The Heart & Soul Tour 2011
Rod Stewart, Stevie Nicks To Tour
North American & UK
January 12, 2011 – Touring | Rock & Pop

By Ariel Watkins
Billboard Biz

Rod Stewart and Stevie Nicks will come together for the upcoming the Heart and & Soul Tour, a series of North American arena performances scheduled to begin March 20 at the Bank Atlantic Center in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

Thirteen dates had been confirmed at press time, including visits to such major-markets as New York, Toronto, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Chicago, Detroit, Tampa and Montreal. Stewart and Nicks will play hits from their catalogs, as well as new material.

"We haven't begun rehearsals but I can already tell you this, with Stevie on board our audiences are in store for an evening of pure rock 'n' roll music," Stewart said in a news release. "I'm already thinking about which of my old favorites to bring back and vocally, I think we've both begun thinking about which songs might be great fun and well-suited for a duet or two."

Nicks is touring in support of her forthcoming album, "In Your Dreams," due May 3. And Stewart is coming off of a series of successful concerts, which included sold-out appearances at Las Vegas' Colosseum At Caesars Palace and a 33-date European tour. In 2010, he released "Fly Me to the Moon…The Great American Songbook, Volume V," which has sold 286,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Stevie Nicks, Rock and Roll's reigning queen, will be releasing her highly anticipated new CD “IN YOUR DREAMS” on May 3, 2011. The new album, her first album of new material in a decade, was co-produced by former Eurythmic Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard. The new album is now available for fans to pre order at stevienicks.warnerreprise.com. Fans who pre-order the CD will receive an instant download of the record's first single, the Nicks’ penned "Secret Love”. The official release date of the single is February 3rd. Nicks is a multi-Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and member of Fleetwood Mac.

Tickets for the Heart and & Soul Tour go on sale beginning Jan. 21 through ticketmaster.com. Tickets for the April 1 show in Montreal will be available through evenko.ca and tickets for the April 5 Philadelphia date will be available through comcasttix.com. American Express card members will be given the chance to purchase tickets early on Jan. 17.

The article states that Stevie is a multi-Grammy award winner but my understanding is that she has only won a single Grammy for Rumours. Can anyone enlighten me otherwise?

These ticket prices are outragous!!! Hey i love Stevie and Mr Stewart, but are they out of touch with reality or what? 2 main floor tickets over 1200 dollars. The other seats are not much more affordable either. I say boycott.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Stevie. BUT, PLEASE someone please tell her to stop doing those wacky hand motion signs. It looks kind of like something a lounge singer would do, not a rock icon. I mean, if a lyric said "you scratch the surface," would you make scratching hand signs? Uhhhgggg, I hate it. Watch the clip from last nights concert when she sings Secret Love, she makes several of those silly gestures. It's distracting and hokey!! I've seen her perform live and on video hundreds of thousands of times, she only started doing that more recently. I want this to be THE YEAR OF STEVIE NICKS! I can feel the momentum building and it's really exciting. I want her taken seriously in every way. So, Stevie, sincerely, please stop those hand gestures.
Love you, mean it.

The show was amazing!! Stevie was good but Rod blew her out of the water! He put on the best show I've seen in awhile, possibly the best show I've ever seen!

Anonymous said...

The southeast would love another show! Birmingham or Tennessee! We would be there!

She was great until he started, as a matter of fact I went because of her but the real show started with ROD he was fantastic his show beyond words@the MSG in NY - he rocks, a consumate entertainer, his show is full of color, fun and talent, we simply loved it!

I like both Stevie and Rod but was disappointed. I really only went to see Rod it my third concert for Rod. I went the the 3/26 concert at MSG. I like Stevie but when she's with Fleetwood not alone. She did sing some Fleetwood songs but quite a few of her own. I felt like Stevie was on stage more than Rod.

Rod was awesome as usual and still kicking soccer balls into the audience. He took a few breaks and gave the band and back up singer a chance to show off so that also cut into his stage time. He also brought Stevie up for 2-3 songs again cutting into his time.

This was the first concert I have ever been to where there was no encore. I would definitely go to another Rod Stewart concert again but I would think twice if it was a 2 performer concert.

Anonymous said...

How are you NOT coming to Milwaukee for Summerfest??? Bummer.

Anonymous said...

can anyone tell me if when rod takes the stage? Does stevie nicks go on first then Rod. My 8 year old son has his 1st play starts at 7:00. Rod & Stevie's concert says 7:30. I cant believe they go on that early. I dont want to miss the concert by my son has to come before Rod. :(

Stevie Nicks was better than expected. Very Good!! Was a bit disappointed with Rod. Didnt seem to have stamina, and voice was not strong.A lot of filler in his show.

Please come south Stevie,we miss you.

Stevie Nicks takes the stage first. She still dresses like the old days, weird, does some weird things acting like a bird. Voice did not sound good at all in Chicago and she seemed kind of stoned or something. Diehard Stevie fans liked it but the rest of the people there couldn't wait until she was done. She looked better when she changed to sing with Rod. He was amazing, class act all the way around. Love you Rod. She went on at about 7:45 and Rod went on about 9:15.

Saw them last night in Detroit. They still are doing their thing and doing it well. She is still a beautiful babe, and he is still strutting all over the stage. Love it!!!

Went to see them in Detroit, fabulous. I am a huge Rod fan and have seen him twice in the last 5 years, always delivers a rocking show. The first time for Stevie and I love her music, but does some weird dancing with her back to the audience, not sure what she has hanging from her fingers. Loves the whole show, would go again and Yes, would love for them to come to Indianapolis!

I was hoping they would come to Vancouver, Canada :(

My husband, oldest son and myself went to see them last night in Oakland, CA and I can honestly say it is one of the very best concerts I have ever been to in MY life and I have been to many. They both put on an incredibly good concert and everyone was totally into it. Stevie sang more songs and had more stage time than Rod which was fine by me because she still has it going on BIG TIME and her voice is still is beautiful and strong as when she was in her 20's. Rod is still going strong but his voice is not quite as strong as it once was but I have been unable to think of anything else the entire day today because the concert was that awesome. I am so happy I got to see the 2 of them together. I have seen Rod Stewart in concert before but not Stevie Nicks or Fleetwood Mac but she is without a doubt my favorite female vocalist of all time. She was FANTASTIC and this is one concert I will never ever forget. I just wish I could see it again; it was that good. Anyone who thinks differently don't listen to them. There was so much energy last night and it was packed. I actually cried during one of Stevie's songs. I feel honored to have been fortunate enough to attend that concert.
