I must say I find it very strange and odd that the circles Stevie travels in and all the people they have in common within their inner circle that Stevie claims to have never actually met Linda. Let alone the fact they are essentially of same music generation and from same state and shared the extreme game & success simultaneously. Very very bizarre. It seems like Stevie has at one time or another crossed personal paths with almost everyone in Hollywood, New York and beyond. Just sayin....Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6620511595417365920.post-86988373929872838522014-04-14T10:10:16.635-05:002014-04-14T10:10:16.635-05:00I think Stevie realizes that she isn't an R&am...I think Stevie realizes that she isn't an R&B singer, but that doesn't mean that she can't appreciate it. She has always said that she wanted to be an R&B singer. I hardly think your comments are necessary - can you sing R&B?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6620511595417365920.post-34778906984918507032014-04-12T19:27:04.270-05:002014-04-12T19:27:04.270-05:00I thought the interview was a bit ego centric. No way, Love her unusual voice, but Aretha Franklin she aint.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6620511595417365920.post-64029152759562288092014-04-12T15:11:35.919-05:002014-04-12T15:11:35.919-05:00Greg, I had the same reaction. This was Linda's moment to shine and Stevie talks about how Linda was "just like me." Then on stage, after finishing the song, she makes a little speech and refers to Linda in the past tense. She hasn't died, Stevie! Be a little bit more aware of what's coming out of your mouth and how it might sound to others….Johnnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6620511595417365920.post-86330901419907296292014-04-12T11:08:55.118-05:002014-04-12T11:08:55.118-05:00I don't think Stevie was trying to make the in...I don't think Stevie was trying to make the interview about herself, it was examples of why she could relate to Linda. Stevie writes songs, she is a story teller - therefore, she tells stories as to why she can relate to things. The Rollingstone interview, on the other hand, is more than a little awkward. Based on Stevie's comments, one could easily assume Linda Ronstadt was years older. In reality, she was born just two years before Stevie. Worse yet, Stevie's use of past tense almost had me wondering if Linda Ronstadt had passed away and I just didn't realize it. It was clear Stevie never met Linda, but Stevie has an amazing ability to take any question and make it about herself. I'm just not sure it was the appropriate thing to do when you're performing in somebody else's honor.gregnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6620511595417365920.post-11694527804067327502014-04-12T03:17:57.731-05:002014-04-12T03:17:57.731-05:00WHAT A Great interview.
