It's all in the Adjectives....

David Wild gets his paws on the new Stevie Nicks album for a listen... First initial feelings on the new album?.... He thinks it's her best solo album ever! and describes the album as:
"Deeply Romantic, Cinematic,  Personal,
Poetic and Dreamy,"

David visited Stevie and Dave Stewart in the studio during recording back in July and wrote a column on her new album that appeared in the September 16, 2010 issue of Rollingstone.

There's been a lot of excitement building around the release of this album... It's been 10 long years since Stevie's last solo studio album...Too long frankly.  Thanks to both Dave Stewart and David Wild for fueling this excitement... and Stevie of course.

STEVIE NICKS WILL APPEAR IN THIS ISSUE OF ROLLING STONE

According to David Wild @Wildaboutmusic (Rolling Stone Contributing Editor) his report / preview / blurb on the next Stevie Nicks album being produced by Dave Stewart will be in this issue of Rolling Stone Magazine issue #1113 on store shelves tomorrow September 1, 2010 - You may recall his mention of her album was to appear in the September 2nd issue, but was bumped at the last minute to include U2.

Rolling Stone

David Wild's Twitter post below:
Wildaboutmusic: I can confirm the Stevie Nicks album preview is in the next Rolling Stone with this red hot "MAD MEN" cover!

Here's what David Wild Wrote in RollingStone:

STEVIE NICKS SOLO ALBUM DUE IN 2011.
"I haven't been this excited about anything I've done since [1981's] Bella Donna," says Stevie Nicks, who is working on her first solo LP since 2001. The album is a collaboration with Eurythmics' Dave Stewart, who co-wrote and co-produced the disc (Glen Ballard also worked on the recored). "It's thrilling, because I've found a writing partner," says Nicks. "I never thought that would happen, because I've never been into sharing songs." The record, which Nicks hopes to put out next spring, doesn't have a title yet but is full of atmospheric, moody rock & roll reminiscent of her best solo work. "For What It's Worth" is a road song that Heartbreaker Mike Campbell contributed the music for, "In Your Dreams" is a supercatchy, uptempo cut, and "Italian Summer" is a grand, romantic ballad based on a trip Nicks recently took to Italy. "It's so powerful," she says. "That was a magical time that's become a magical song." She adds, "at a certain point, I'm going to get too old for this, but making this album really shows that I'm not done yet."

Another peek via snapshot into the making of Stevie's next studio release... and quite possibly a video still shot at that. Stevie on piano and Dave listening...

And props to David Wild - Rolling Stone Magazine writer for calling one of Stevie's new
songs "Italian Summer" one of her top 3 songs ever. And maybe the single most romantic.

THE LATEST DEVELOPMENT: STEVIE NICKS MAY INCLUDE NEW SONGS ON TOUR

BUT ARE THOSE NEW SONGS BRAND NEW SONGS?... OR OLD SONGS NEVER PERFORMED, THEREFORE STILL BEING NEW?

Twitter was active today with the following from David Wild @Wildaboutmusic (Rolling Stone Magazine Contributing Editor).

@Wildaboutmusic: "Today I am supposed to talk to Stevie Nicks, then introduce Brian Wilson tonight. For a kid from New Jersey, a very California Dream."

@Wildaboutmusic: WILD SONG OF THE DAY: "Italian Summer" by Stevie Nicks. Just one stunning song from her upcoming album."

[insert a plethora of Tweets directed at Mr. Wild regarding the above statement]

@Wildaboutmusic:"To all of Stevie's loving fans, I"m sorry you'll have to wait. And yes, it will be worth the wait."

@teribury "David can you ask Stevie if she will be performing any of her new songs next week on her mini tour? Thanks."

@Wildaboutmusic: "Yes, I will try and ask Stevie if she's performing any new material on her upcoming mini-tour."

@Wildaboutmusic:"Just spoke to the lovely Stevie, and she'd love to try a new song or two on her mini-tour for her fans, but doesn't want them on YouTube."

@Wildaboutmusic:"Look for more details in an In The Studio piece I will write soon for Rolling Stone. I'll keep you posted here when to expect that."

I kinda don't blame Stevie one bit about not wanting her new stuff on Youtube!.... Are you kidding me, fans would erupt if she gave us a preview of anything new! You know it would happen if she were to play something new...  As it is, probably 90% of her first show will show up on Youtube!  But it's all good... People are just excited!

Al Ortis, Bass player in Stevie's band who has been working with her since the late 90's and who can be found Monday nights in LA at The Joint playing in the Waddy Wachtel Band when he's not on tour - posted on his facebook page the following:

"Sittin here goin over Stevie Nicks tunes for the upcoming August tour. Mostly live stuff of the band's passed shows and new songs too. Wow Pretty killin band. Can't wait to see everyone and play some great music."

Hello?!.... New songs too?!  Okay, so are they considering adding new NEW songs?... or just new OLD songs never played before?  Al's statement isn't really clear!  In any case a shake-up in the set is definitely needed!  And whether they add tracks from older albums never played, or something brand spankin' new, it will be a welcome edition...

DAVID WILD @wildaboutmusic TAKING FAN QUESTIONS FOR STEVIE NICKS MEETING

It looks like David Wild will be speaking with Stevie Nicks next week about her new album...

"I may be speaking to Stevie Nicks again early next week about her cool new album. I will ask her the best fan question that I get here."

Head on over to Twitter and Tweet Wildaboutmusic your best crafted question.

WITH QUOTES LIKE THIS YOU CAN'T HELP BUT GET EXCITED!!

David Wild (Wildaboutmusic): "Stevie collaborates with some old friends in new ways. The result so far is powerful & deeply personal. There's blood on these tracks."

"Okay since my tennis game was rained out: there are lots of ghosts, vampires on Stevie Nicks' upcoming album, but mostly stunning songs."

I'm a bit perplexed by the "collaborates with some old friends in new ways". What's the "new ways" mean?... Dave Stewart mentioned they were recording in a "new way" as well back a couple of months ago...

MORE:

"Between @DaveStewart and Waddy Wachtel on guitars, the new Stevie Nicks material rocks, on a number of levels."

"Last Stevie Nicks update d'jour: The album's still being made. It'll come out exactly . . . when it comes out. And it will be GREAT."

DAVID WILD PAYS STEVIE NICKS A VISIT IN THE STUDIO

Well this is kinda interesting! A little earlier today David Wild posted on Twitter that he was going into the studio today to see Stevie Nicks and that he'd ask her the best question sent in to him... There were a few responses... But the interesting part is...what's he up too? Is David just paying Stevie a friendly visit, or is he putting together a piece on Stevie to appear either on the Huffington Post?... Or in the pages of Rollingstone?

We'll have to wait and see.

[update]
After David returned from his visit, he sent out a tweet: "Just back from a wild night in the studio with the great Stevie Nicks & @DaveStewart. First reaction to this work in progress: WOW.

"I will elaborate and share details soon. But for tonight, I'll stand by that WOW. And a good wow too."

David is a Contributing Editor for Rolling Stone, writes for the Huffington Post and also is Producer of The Chris Isaak Hour on the Bio Channel that Stevie appeared on early in 2009. One of David's connections to Fleetwood Mac is he wrote the foreword in the liner notes of 2002 Very Best Of CD.
