Want to hear the radio edit of "For What It's Worth"? **New Stevie Nicks Single **

Go to allaccess.com scroll down to "S" section Future Releases July 11th and click on the blue arrow next to the song title and launch the Windows Media Player.  Pay attention to about 3:23 where the edit took place removing one of the choruses that repeat... plus the ending of the song has one line where she says "For What It's Worth" removed... Song still sounds good even though about 28 seconds of the song have been removed.

  1. Will it chart? Will it get radio play? Is secret love no longer being played on the radio?

  2. I love this song. It's classic Stevie. But the bottom line is that Stevie is never going to have a hit again, at least not in the traditional sense. We'll see if radio grabs hold of this. I hope it does. My only wish is that they would have added some strings to the radio mix. I can imagine some nice, delicate strings coming in right at the second verse and slowly building toward the end. That might have given it a bit more of a hook for radio.....Beautiful song nonetheless.

  3. While this is a great album track, I really think it is not a single. There were much better choices on Stevie's new CD that may actually have gotten some airplay. But I would still love it if this song did.

But Warner Bros. and Stevie's management fill screw up the release as they have every other aspect of her careeer lately. She should be on TV singing it live and have the video out at exactly the same time the song is serviced to radio. That would be the only way DJ's might play it more than a few times, if at all. Such stupid, stupid planning; from what are supposed to be professional music industry people.

  4. U.S. radio isn't won over by TV performances, that are not as easy to book as you assume. Top 40 does not play anything by artists over 45. End of story. TV producers will only book her if she agrees to sing a familiar hit - they want comfort and familiar, not new.

  7. Anytime you comment that Stevie could have gotten some radio airply, someone else comments that she would never get on the radio nowadays. Well, sorry but that is BS. Of course Stevie would not get on top 40 radio, but she could have gotten on Adult Contemporary radio (AC), and she could have even had a minor hit on it. That is if her song was serviced to radio at the exact same time a video and live TV appearences took place. If DJ's saw her sing a song on Leno, Letterman, or Ellen right when they got the promo for the same song, they would be much more inclined to play it more than once and see if their audience got into it. It is no more complicated than that. And her record company and management have screwed that up once again, causing her new CD to slide into oblivion. Sad, sad, sad.
