  1. Half way through the book and I'm getting pretty bored... It's not really very interesting. Too many tech descriptions, and too many Ken's personal stories: who cares about Nina-who or Caillat's sex-obsessed dog? I miss more about the madness I supposed the making of Rumours was about: half way through the book and nobody has killed anybody... Excuse my poor English.

  2. Have to agree w/ Zanobbi-- a bit of a bore. The excess detail to the equipment used, tedium. My expectations and anticipation were misguided. Oh, well.

  3. Why does this site persist in promoting this scurrilous book? Or, if not the book, its scurrilous author? I'm a 30+ year FM fan and I'm NOT buying or reading this book expressly because of the nature of the interviews given by Calliat and the dispiriting, negative tone of his statements. His obvious hypocrisy in singing Lindsey's praises during the I CREATE MUSIC AWARD shindig, then cutting him down as a psychopath once he's got a book to promote speaks for itself. If one expects loyalty, one should practice it. Perhaps he and Carol Ann can have an empty book signing at an IN AND OUT BURGER. I hear the one in Kettleman City is quite popular. To say the members of the band are all "down", even as Stevie and Lindsey both have scored career milestones in the past year is outrageous (and still forbidden!). Critically first and commercially second, 2011 was a banner year for both Lindsey and Stevie - those 52,000 units sold of IYD in its 1st week are looking pretty awesome retrospectively, given the sales of Madonna's latest. Please stop promoting sourpuss Callait and assuming we want updates on the progress of his loser/vampire book. Enough said.

  5. I'm really enjoying the book. There's so much I didn't know about this period for Fleetwood Mac. Anonymous number four, has it occurred to you that Ken is telling the truth? Feel free to live in your "loyal" 30-year fantasy bubble. It seems you're the real sourpuss!

  6. Dear No. 5 - I'm not living in a "30 year fantasy bubble" - it's just that I don't need to know that Lindsey attempted to strangle Calliat during the recording of the YOU MAKE LOVING FUN guitar solo. It adds nothing to the legacy except to make it nastier. I guess you're one of these "no privacy" people who believe that full-exposure of all behaviors is the way to go. Except if it were you who were embarrassed by it. Why torture Lindsey for something that happened 36 years ago and for which he apologized? Spite, it is. Ken could have quit on the spot, couldn't he? Now he's playing Pollyanna. It's just typical, ungracious Baby Boomer crap that only makes the crap-thrower stink.

    1. Sorry poster number 4 and 5 for my comments. I actually agree with you now after you explained it in a sensible way. I usually don't change my opinion unless I was wrong to begin with, lol.

  7. I thought it was cool that Jerry Brown, Linda Ronstadt and Jimmy Page stopped into the studio to meet the band. This book insinuates Stevie's a real witch, that she told Ken she put a hex on Ken's dog Scooter, and that when Scooter died Stevie said, "i'm glad, Ken". If this is true Stevie's not only a witch, but an evil one!

  8. I'm shocked Dave Stewart endorsed this book (on the back cover). I'm guessing Dave didn't read the book...

  9. "And then there was the time Stevie was late for a session because she was at a nearby hospital picking up newborns with a flaming pitchfork, which she then ram down the throats of their crying mothers."
I would believe that bit of fiction before I would ever he consider Stevie taking pleasure in harming an animal.
And it's not uncommon for celebs to say no to being interviewed for a book such as this because their participation can add legitimacy to whatever the author chooses to write. Publicists would tell their clients to steer clear because they might just get ambushed when the book comes out and it's full of bull.

  10. Rumours may be good, but In Your Dreams is great! Dave Stewart > Ken 'crybaby' Callait.
