Wham Bam... Thank You Gram... Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks Grammy Coverage

While looking for signs of Lindsey Buckingham... Stevie Nicks kind of unexpectedly showed up at tonights Grammy's. With the focus being on Lindsey's performance and this awards show, it was a little surprising to see her there... But this is cool... Glad she went to celebrate a night of music and support the industry. She looked great as usual, made some waves on the Red Carpet with her arrival on the arm of Doug Morris Chairman and CEO of Sony Music Entertainment.  She hit a few news reporters along the way - Access Hollywood, The Insider, The Grammy's (you'll likely see video here in the coming days). She stopped to speak with Katy Perry who told Ryan Seacrest afterwards that she will be performing her latest single, “Dark Horse,” and that it was partly inspired by Stevie Nicks.  Katy's performance was dark, gothic and she was drapped in long flowing chiffon.  If that's the inspiration... I'll take that. It looked pretty good!  The song, not so much!

No sign of Lindsey on the red carpet which I total expected!  He was spotted during the telecast in the audience a couple of times, but that was about it until he took the stage with Dave Grohl, Trent Reznor and QOTSA... See below.

LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM performed a two song medley with Nine Inch Nails, Dave Grohl and Queens of the Stone Age.  We heard a really cool version of of "Copy of A" from Nine Inch Nails... Lindsey kicked it off with some finger picking which almost sounded like the opening of "Miranda", but sped up.. He sounded great, the whole song did.  The second song, "My God is the Sun" was a Queens of the Stone Age song... But the telecast was cut it off before they could finish to go to their sponsor ads! So frustrating! They could have waited just a minute or two more.  Anyway, for what we saw, Lindsey looked and sounded great!

Alternative rock all-star team ends 56th GRAMMY Awards with a mashup of Nine Inch Nails' "Copy of A" and Queens of the Stone Age's "My God Is the Sun."

  1. Why so much Stevie coverage? This was clearly Lindsey's night.

  2. Copy of A is a great song, glad they did that one! Plus so much hotness wrapped in leather on that stage!!

  3. Agree with the anon above - what's with all the SN coverage?? #colormeconfused

  4. Yes.. It was clearly Lindsey's night... but aside from the stage performance, he basically was only spotted in the audience. He didn't walk the red carpet.

  5. The world revolves around her. Are you kidding? Fleetwood Mac would be NOTHING without Stevie Nicks. Theyd be lucky to play on a street corner without her.

  6. Agree with BOTH the comments above. Lindsey, as expected, made us proud. And I'll be dreaming of leather tonight!

  7. Anonymous at 23:49 still don't know what she has to do with that amazing performance tonight from Lindsey, Trent and Josh. They stole the whole show tonight! Rock on Lindsey!!

  8. Anon at 23.49 - did you SEE any Mac shows last year????? They would be NOTHING with Lindsey! He carries the show and they would just collapse without him!

  9. And of course I meant to say "nothing WITHOUT Lindsey" in my post above at 23.57 lol

  10. You people dont get it. What does Lindsey get at his solo shows? Like 500 people? LMFAO Stevie outdraws that at her concerts by 10 TIMES if not more. You people simply cant handle the fact that Stevie Nicks IS FLEETWOID MAC.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Actually I don't give a stuff about Fleetwood Mac - only see them cos of HIM! I wish he would come back to his fans solo for good and then we don't have to see Ms N ever again! :P

    ReplyDelete
  12. Perhaps Stevie came to support Lindsey?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Why must everyone make it a freaking contest between the two? So what if Stevie is getting some coverage! Any coverage that either of them gets benefits us loyal Fleetwood Mac fans as it helps to keep the band relevant in today's fickle music industry! So, quit the childish bellyaching and the constant "my friend is better than your friend" garbage. We all have our favorites but for goodness sake, the last I looked this is FLEETWOOD MAC News and Reviews...not LB news and reviews. So, with that said....coverage of Stevie is appropriate on this page...as would coverage of Mick, John or Christine.

  14. Lol like i said 500 people at his shows 10 times that much at hers. If u wanna live in that fantasy world and support that, be my guest.

    1. Try like 20-30 times his 500. She pulls in 10-15,000/show ez. But seriously folks it's not a contest and if course Lindsey will tour solo. He just needs the FM $$ to fund his vanity projects for his die hards.

  15. Oh, and while im at it Bella Donna sold MILLIONS of copies. Lindsey Buckingham is lucky if any one of his sold 1000.

  16. LOL Very true! :)

  17. I am a fan of both Lindsey and Stevie. Both have made Fleetwood Mac a fabulous band. Last year tour was the best ever! They both deserved to be at the Grammys. Lindsey rocked the stage while Stevie was supporting a lifetime friend (hellooo they've known each other since high school) So lets not be haters but celebrate what great music they both are responsible for and bringing their gift of music to all of us! oh yeah great comment JustJeanie!

  18. Thank you Just Jeanne we are Fleetwood Mac fans. The band chose long ago to put Stevie up front and obviously it has worked for them for a long time but a band is only as good as all of its parts I saw them in concert this year without Christine and the band was different They (All of them are Fleetwood Mac) doesn't matter whose getting the attention all good for the band.

  19. Love them both!

  20. Also Stevie was probably there to support Dave Grohl too. She did help write the song "You Can't Fix This" from the Sound City Soundtrack. Which did win!!! (Rock On Dave!)

  21. See the Lindsey nutcases cannot accept FACTS that his career pales in comparison to Stevie's in every way possible. Facts are facts people. The Lindsey freaks live in some kind of alternate reality that he matters to anyone but a few esoteric weirdos.

    1. What a nice and friendly post. No name calling whatsoever. Shows a lot of class!

  22. I'd rather see a Lindsey show over a Stevie show any day!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Ok then, have it your way, if u wanna support someone who doesnt matter to ANYONE but a few people I guess thats your right. Meanwhile, I'll continue to support someone who means alot to MILLIONS of people not about 500 like LB.

    ReplyDelete
  24. There is a signed Stevie item in the Grammy's charity auction, which is probably one reason She's there. Besides the Grammy's is one of the big events for the music industry so why shouldn't she be there?

    ReplyDelete
  25. You Lindsey people are a complete joke. You really have this idea that he has alot of fans. Once again I will present facts to prove that you people are complete idiots. Stevie Nicks gets 5000 or more people to show up at her solo shows, Lindsey Buckingham 500. She has sold over 20 million albums ON HER OWN without Fleetwood Mac. LB has probably sold about 20,000 for his entire career. Why cant you people just accept the fact that Stevie is superior to Lindsey instead of coming up with false arguments to the contrary.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I'm so bored with Stevie's "uniform". God I hate that black pantcho frock-thing...does she not wear anything else? It's redundantly idiotic-looking. She "could" wear any designer she wants...I'd love to have seen her show up in that red gown she wore during "Italian Summer". I'd love her to show up in ANYTHING other than that ghastly "uniform".

    ReplyDelete
  27. Why is everyone suddenly choosing sides over Lindsey or Stevie? Lindsey didn't walk the red carpet, so there's nothing much to say about that. He performed and did great.
Don't forget this website is called: fleetwood mac news, not just Lindsey Buckingham news or Stevie Nicks news. Both matter. I agree Stevie's outfit wasn't very inspiring, but that's not a big deal.

Also very sad to hear people are complaining there wasn't enough Lindsey in the performance. Be happy with what you got. Complaiing isn't gonna change anything. Keep it positive instead of being so sour!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Wow, I thought this was a fan page, not a haters page or a contest. I love them both. Stevie was there to support Lindsey and possibly for other reasons stated above. so glad to see her there! Lindsey was great! He deserves more credit than what others give him.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Stevie said she wasn't planning on being there, she was going to watch it from home, so therefore probably didn't have time to plan a fabulous gown. I'm glad she was there. She deserves more than she got. What happened to In Your Dreams album? Deserved a nomination.

    ReplyDelete
  30. All these beautiful clothes that Stevie is always talking about and all we see is her in that same black boring top and pants all the time. She really needs to start wearing all her pretty dresses, what is she waiting for? At this point the only place she'll wear them is in her coffin. And the sunglasses sure don't help either, they really age her. She is still so pretty and should show her face.

Lindsey was great, but there was not enough of him. And why did the Paul McCartney song from the "Sound City" movie get nominated and win and the Stevie song didn't even get nominated?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Thats why I don't watch the grammys because Stevie's music and fleetwood mac music always gets over looked. The only time I will watch it is when i know they will be there

    ReplyDelete
  32. To the anonymous person going on about Stevie drawing bigger crowds and selling more albums, quantity doesn't equal quality. See Justin Bieber for an example. Just because Stevie brings in more numbers, it doesn't mean she more talented. It just means she's better at mediocre pop that appeals to a wider audience.

    ReplyDelete
  33. From what the article said, Lindsey did not walk the red carpet, hence the no coverage. Stevie was there as a musician supporting musicians and had every right to be there. Point of note, all the non-musicians that were there in the audience, why should she NOT be able to be there. Both are excellent musicians, don't belittle one for the other. Support the one you like and leave the other out of it.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Ummmm also another reason for Stevie's presence (as IF she even NEEDS a reason) being Jimmy Paxson won a grammy last night. Why the heck wouldn't Stevie be there to support her friends/band mates?

    ReplyDelete
  35. I don't think anyone said there was no reason for Stevie to be there. What I don't understand is why there was so much emphasis on her presence when all she did was walk the carpet while Lindsey was a performer and part of the show and a great collaboration with other talented artists.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Her outfit (still) sucks :) Come on Stevie - burn the black drapes and get a new stylist (and before anyone yells about this, Margi Kent is not doing Stevie any justice allowing her client to walk a red carpet looking like she did). The sleeves - HORRIBLE. The sunglasses - HORRIBLE. The look of the outfix/uniform- HORRIBLE.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Perhaps because she made herself accessible on the red carpet and for interviews whereas Lindsey, for good reason I am sure (rehearsal, etc), did not. All of us could spend endless amounts of time asking why this or why that.... it is what it is. No sense ripping either one of them apart. Doesn't Mick always instruct us to "be kind?"

    ReplyDelete
  38. Stevie always liked being out front. She does the band good by making appearances such as this. And she looked wonderful to me. The looks is hers and she obviously isn't going to change. But then again she can do no wrong to me. Had to laugh when Lindsey's number got cut off - just like on Saturday Night Live when they don't have time for that actor portraying him and have cut him out. You know who ever closes the show is going to get cut off. And he wasn't even mentioned as a guest in any of the commercials. It's like Lindsey who??? The good news for the poster above who says he would rather see Lindsey in concert rather than Stevie, you won't ever have a problem getting a good seat. Seen him in concert solo and what a boring show. The house was half empty and it was a small theatre. He really isn't much to watch without Stevie. But together they make a great show.

    1. What world do you live in? Other than SN/FM fans nobody even noted SN was there. While Lindsey's appearance with the alternative rockers was one of the biggest announcements before and all throughout the show.

  39. Someone please send Stevie some new sunglasses options.
    These aren't working.

    ReplyDelete
  40. They aren't sunglasses... They are prescription!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Stevie wears what SHE feels good in - at least she dresses age appropriate and doesn't go around in short or tight outfits or revealing major cleavage. Besides, it doesn't matter what she wears. We are lucky that she is still performing - we could have lost her to her cocaine habit.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I didn't realize she was there, sweet of her to support Lindsey and get some exposure. I was thrilled with Lindsey's performance! I was afraid he'd be lost in all those people, but it started right out with some classic Lindsey playing. Glad he is finally being recognized!

  43. Ugh. So sick of the Social Media Haters, as if they have nothing better to do than to complain about EVERY last little detail. I guess attacking the stars is just a means to making insignificant individuals feel remotely important in a world that's much bigger than themselves ...And Stevie Nicks IS NOT wearing Sunglasses people.... they ARE PRESCRIPTION SHADES made to look like Sunglasses.... You can clearly see the magnification in interviews when she turns to the side. It explains why Nicks often wears them when she obviously needs to see clearly...

Great show with Buckingham, and supportive appearance by Nicks... looking forward to the recording sessions in March with Christine McVie, and subsequent album and tour(s) with Fleetwood Mac next year.

    ReplyDelete
  44. One piece of info that's being overlooked here is that Stevie Nicks "made some waves on the Red Carpet with her arrival on the arm of Doug Morris Chairman and CEO of Sony Music Entertainment" ... Her last solo album, "In Your Dreams," was under the Reprise Record Label owned by Warner Music Group, and operated through Warner Bros. Records. Why would Nicks show up at the Grammy's of all places on the arm of the CEO of Sony Music Entertainment Doug Morris???

Likewise Fleetwood Mac's "Say You Will" was also under the Reprise label.
The recent LP "Extended Play" was issued under Fleetwood Mac's own LMJS Productions, LLC. Buckingham's last solo album "Seeds We Sow" was issued under his own "small machine," Buckingham Records.

It makes one speculate if perhaps Fleetwood Mac, or Stevie Nicks, may now have some new collaboration underway with Sony Music Entertainment???

Maybe the new Fleetwood Mac album they're going into the studio to record with Christine McVie in March?

    ReplyDelete
  45. Maybe Stevie and Doug Morris are friends who have known one another for years? I wouldn't necessarily read anything into it. Also, why all the freaking hate on this page? Why does Stevie's appearance on the red carpet detract from Lindsey's performance? It was CBS/Grammy producers who pulled the plug early on the performance. The band is getting ready to record and tour again late in the year; drumming up publicity is a natural thing. Also, if you watch past Fleetwood Mac publicity performances, Lindsey has never been comfortable in a red carpet situation where he has flashbulbs going off in his face. Stevie and Mick have always appeared more at ease. Any publicity that either of them receive will help Fleetwood Mac. Why does it have to be a competition. Each of them bring something different to the table.

  46. And while I do agree Stevie's outfit could use some color - maybe a purple scarf or a nice chunky belt - the woman is not in her thirties, forties, or fifties anymore. Yes, she is beautiful and timeless and classy and youthful, but she is also 65. I think she is dressed very stylish in clothes that not only flatter her frame but give off a youthful vibe. She was not there to promote a fashion designer's work.

    ReplyDelete
  47. wow wow wow, all the hate on here. sad.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Stevie and Doug go wayyyy back... back to Bella Donna days (if memory serves me right). He saw her through some pretty heavy days. Could they be working together? Sure, maybe. Who knows. Only time will tell.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I love Stevie and I love Lindsey... and I also love all of you! Be nice to each other ~

  50. You gotta love it when someone slams a performer and then they end the post with "but we should all love each other and not be petty".

  51. I thought that Stevie and Doug Morris looked cute together! I wonder is he single?
    Was he carrying her purse?

  52. At least Stevie wore clothes.
