  1. Oh WOW! Very exciting! I've been excited to see a new photo of the band together.
Chris, please, please don't wear a scrunchy in your hair on the TODAY Show or ever again in this lifetime. I beg you.

  6. I'm getting this sinking feeling that there will be no new album.

  8. ^^ I'm getting that feeling as well. Or if there is anything released, it will be another EP with a couple newly recorded Christine McVie & Lindsey Buckingham songs with slight backup vocals by Stevie.
Unless they signed a Live Nation universal contract with 1 new record obligation (along with the tour) I don't see another record being released. If true, I don't know whether to be sad or mad. :-(

  9. Well aside from the opportunity to perform a few Christine songs live, why else would they be touring so soon after their last tour wrapped up?

  10. If there isn't a new album it hugely diminishes the feelings surrounding this reunion. Are the egos still so big and complicated that they essentially comprise a creative wall? If the band thinks they can just redo THE DANCE and make everyone happy they're wrong. Why watch a 17 year-old show in which the only thing you notice are how old everyone looks and how diminished everyone's capacity is?

While I'll welcome any new music they might put out, this is far from what I was hoping for. A big-ticket nostalgia tour? Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....

Plus, having just done a massive world tour last year with just a few new songs, how does a massive world tour this year - with possibly a couple more new songs - make sense? With no new album, the timing seems off....

  11. I think they will release another EP. Stevie doesn't appear to be interested in cutting another album. She loves to tour. She had so much fun creating her solo album that she may not want to do battle with Lindsey every step of the way for a new Fleetwood Mac album. She had a taste of what it was like to just be herself and go with HER gut instinct on things while recording with Dave Stewart. She doesn't have that kind of artistic freedom with Lindsey.

About the possibility that there won't be a new album with the old lineup? Given that we have absolutely no information about this either way, how about being neither for the time being?

Good lord, just be happy about the reunion *that's still yet to happen* before despairing over what might have been.

  13. I don't think they would release even an EP without some contributions from Stevie this time around.

  14. Best News Ever!!! I Hope They Come Back To Dublin!

  15. ^^ ^^ To assume an EP would be all Christine/Lindsey material might be a mistake. It's possible but why is it hard to believe Stevie hasn't written anything at all in the last couple years she'd want to contribute to a new project. Her lack of participation on EP1 had more to do with the fact it was done while she was grieving. Sure she may not be the prolific songwriter she once was, but I'm sure she had at least a couple demos she could have gone in with.

My prediction is an EP with new material from each writer, the band will continue to work on material and will probably break from recording to tour and the finish the album post-tour.

  16. Then why the urgency to tour, especially since John is still recovering from his cancer treatment? Wouldn't this be the time to go into the studio, cut an entirely new record and then unveil it next spring with a release and tour? That way there would a be breather on the concert circuit and they'd be able to maximize their impact as an energized, reconstituted band. As much as we're all thrilled that they're back together, something still seems "off" about this.

  22. I think we may get an album. If not, then why are they all hanging in LA? Certainly not waiting to talk to Carson Daly! Probably are working on a record - whether it is an EP or LP, we may find out tomorrow. I just hope they don't call it EP2 (or LP for that matter). The title of the last was as lazy as the project itself (reused font, no pictures)...Maybe tomorrow will bring us the news we're all hoping for!

  23. I am just happy to see them together. If they do a nostalgia tour, so be it. I will pay top dollar just to see that and I have a bunch of friends who would do the same. We can't expect them to have the energy or willingness to do the same things that they did when they were younger. Just be glad they are alive and largely well. So glad just to see them together with Christine back. That alone is exciting enough. Now if they come out with a new album, what a bonus!! BTW, John lost weight and he is looking pretty good.

  24. Interesting that Stevie keeps a bunch of recording equipment around the house. I guess maybe all rock stars do. Anyway- I for one don't care what Ms McVie wears in her hair. She looks a lot better than many 40 year old bags walking around in my world. Chris looks great and I'm overjoyed that she chose to hop in the game again. Long live the Queen and her sister Ms. Nicks!

  26. On NBC in Washington DC at 7:15AM this morning there was a new Fleetwood Mac ad on TV for the tour. It is called "On With The Show" and included all 5 band member names. They are playing the Verizon Center in DC on October 31st. The ad was completely new, nothing like the last year's tour ad.

  27. Original band members established in 1975? What about the orginal line-up with Peter Green and
    Jeremy Spencer from the 60's.

  28. I am going to have to travel to see them but I have a feeling this might be the last time all four together. I have seen every lineup imaginable with them but been years since I have seen Christine. It makes it all complete.

  29. ^^ ^^ - @last anonymous poster ... we all know the 'Rumours'-era lineup isn't the original lineup. I wonder if TV gets that wrong on purpose (NBC's slip up today certainly isn't the first time someone has called this lineup the original) or if they say it just because it's the most commercially successful lineup of the Mac. Either way I'm sure Mick and John just cringe every time they're around a television personality who makes the mistake.
