Fleetwood Mac Announce "TUSK" 5CD / 1 DVD 5.1 Surround Mix / 2 Vinyl Reissue - Avail. December 4th

Tusk (Deluxe Edition 5CD/1DVD-A/2 Vinyl)
Fleetwood Mac builds on its formidable legacy as one of rock’s most legendary acts as they re-visit
their most ambitious album with deluxe and expanded editions of TUSK.

Originally released in 1979, the Grammy® Award-nominated, double-album sold more than four million copies worldwide, and reached number 1 in the UK album charts, and included hits like “Sara,” “Think About Me,” and the title track.

The announcement comes as the band – Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Lindsey Buckingham  Stevie Nicks and now of course Christine McVie,  – continues it’s acclaimed, “On With The Show” world tour which recently including 6 sold out shows at London’s 02 Arena.

To follow the historic, global success of 1977’s Grammy-Award winning Rumours, Fleetwood Mac chose to take a more experimental approach on Tusk. The most famous example has to be the unexpected and beloved inclusion of the University of Southern California’s marching band on the title track.

TUSK will be available on December 4

This DELUXE EDITION delves deep into the vaults with five CDs including the remastered original album, an alternate version of the complete album made up of session outtakes, most of which have never been released, as well as an additional selection of singles, demos and remixes, including an outtake of “Think About Me,” an early version of “That’s Enough For Me” called “Out On The Road,” plus several incarnations of “I Know I’m Not Wrong.”

Also included are two discs loaded with 22 unreleased performances from the band’s 1979 Tusk tour with selections from concerts in London, Tucson, and St. Louis. It includes live versions of album tracks like “Sara, “Over And Over” and “Save Me A Place,” as well as favorites like “Landslide,” “You Make Loving Fun,” “Rhiannon,” “Don’t Stop” and “Go Your Own Way.”

Completing  the Deluxe Edition is a 5.1 surround mix of Tusk on DVD-Audio and vinyl of the original album on 2-LPs.

The collection comes housed in an elegant box reminiscent of the acclaimed Rumours Deluxe Edition with a booklet that has extended liner notes that feature new interviews with all the band members.

TUSK will also be available as a single disc of the original album remastered this year by Lindsey Buckingham.

The 3 cd digi-pack expanded edition includes the remastered original album, an alternate version of the complete album made up of session outtakes, most of which have never been released, as well as an additional selection of singles, demos and remixes, including an outtake of “Think About Me,” an early version of “That’s Enough For Me” called “Out On The Road,” plus several incarnations of “I Know I’m Not Wrong.

  2. This is great! But I think we will have to wait to see if it will be available only in the U.K, or if it will appear on Amazon and be sold in the U.S also.

  3. Maybe I'll go for the CD digi-pack. Never really liked vinyl and still don't. What a great package though, so glad Tusk is finally being recognized for the first-rate wonder it is.

  4. Great. But how about finally remastering and expanding Mirage and Tango...?

  5. still not the 16 minute version of Sara ?!?? I would die to hear that...

  6. Why is the TUSK documentary not included?! Surely they have to know that is what every one would want to see. (Not to mention a 200+ page hardcover tome of all the Norman Sheef photographs, not to mention the Peter Beard lay-outs...) This is my favorite album of all time - I buy it every time it gets released, in whatever medium, so I will buy this too - but, if the point is to put out a definitive edition, why not try harder and make something stellar? Dylan does, Bowie does, the Beatles do, the Stones are pretty decent with re-issues and great with their vault selections - but Fleetwood Mac, one of the biggest bands of all time, can't even seem to get Mirage and Tango re-issued on CD?! I love this band, but I just don't understand - if not now, then when? - Craig

  7. No Fireflies! I'm excited but that and the lack of different outtakes of Sara is a big loss!

  8. TUSK in 5.1!!! Can't wait to hear it! But how long wie have to wait for the Boston concert in HD on Bluray?!?

  9. 6 versions of I Know I'm Not Wrong and 5 versions of Tusk, but still no Smile At You? I'll also echo the lack of the long version of Sara, as well as a need for a Mirage re-issue (with THAT version of Smile At You as well)

  10. Since 'Rumours' received this treatment last year, and now we're getting 'Tusk,' perhaps that means we'll FINALLY get 'Mirage' & 'Tango' within the next couple years. Instead of having six versions of "I Know I'm Not Wrong" we could have at least been treated to the original demo for "Fireflies." Oh well, this is still a very awesome package. I'm a bit curious what "The Alternate Tusk" disc will be; it's the exact same track list and it's not listed as a disc of demos ...

  11. Any word whether this will be available in the US rather than as an import?

  12. It's available for pre-order on Amazon in the U.S.

  13. The Mac is pretty much...re-releasing the same old material...yet again !
How many vesions of...I Know I'm not Wrong...does one need to hear...
When it said a DVD was part of the package...I was thinking ....finally the
TUSK DOCUMENTARY would be in my hands...in all its remastered glory....

What a major let down...for those of us...who purchased the original 2 record set way back when,
one would think that the band or whoever had the idea to release this...would at least give us a concert video or the documentary....to go along with this mostly rehashed material...won't waste my
    hard earned dollars....again !!!

  14. The long version of Sara was cut apart to make the released version, it doesn't exist anymore. The longest version was rather incomplete, not full vocals and a lot of unfinished parts jamming along, and they never made tapes of it when it was full-length. So there is nothing to hear.

  15. Please change the title of this thread so it is not misleading to consumers.

The 5.1 surround disc is not DVD-Audio. it is an audio only DVD-Video disc in DTS and Dolby.
