Stevie Nicks' new whirl + Fleetwood Mac Reuniting Update...

"Lindsey has made a really beautiful record ['Seeds We Sow,' due Sept. 6] and he's going to go work that record. By the time we're both done working these records and you put a little time between it, Fleetwood Mac will probably start dancing around the fire at the end of next year."

Article by: JON BREAM

This summer, Stevie Nicks was invited to sing on TV's "America's Got Talent" and "The Voice." This month, she joined Jeff Bridges and John Fogerty at a benefit for wounded soldiers in Sturgis, S.D. In May, her Fleetwood Mac songs were featured on a "Glee" episode.

Why is the witchy woman so suddenly in demand?

It probably has a lot to do with "In Your Dreams," her first solo album in 10 years and her best since 1981's "Bella Donna."

"I have to tip my top hat to Dave Stewart" of Eurythmics, she said, who produced the album. "I think the seven songs that he and I wrote together mixed in with the five songs that I wrote by myself made for a much more interesting and diversified record," said Nicks, who performs Wednesday at Mystic Lake Casino amphitheater.

As a musician, Nicks, 63, knows she's limited. She didn't expect to be writing with Stewart but she sent him 40 pages of poetry. He came to her house and said, "Let's do this one."

Recalled Nicks: "In my head, I'm like, 'You don't think we're really going to sit in this room and write a song together, 'cause I don't do that.' But he was so kind and so sweet and no ego, and we just started playing, and in 15 minutes we finished 'You May Be the One.'

"Suddenly, I had an epiphany. Wow! That worked. And this is a really great song with no grief. I don't feel punished or like something was taken away from me. I don't miss spending two months sitting at my piano in tears."

One of her own songs on "In Your Dreams" actually dates back to Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours" days in the mid-1970s. She knew she had "Secret Love" on a cassette somewhere but couldn't find it. Then her assistant discovered it on YouTube. It turns out that Nicks had actually recorded it for "Bella Donna" but never released it. Keyboardist Benmont Tench, the musical director for that album, was the only person to remember it.

"Ben told me that the other day," Nicks said. "Now my whole story about having no idea [what happened to the song] has gone to hell in a handbag. I remember we recorded a lot of songs for 'Bella Donna'; I just did not remember that."

Stevie Nicks "In Your Dreams" strikingly versatile, covering love and politics, dreams and poems, rock and pop

Stevie Nicks' first album in 10 years is easily her strongest solo effort since "Bella Donna" in 1981. "In Your Dreams" is strikingly versatile, covering love and politics, dreams and poems, rock and pop. Props to producer Dave Stewart of Eurythmics and to Nicks for inviting ex-beau Lindsey Buckingham to play on "Soldier's Angel" and for recording "Secret Love," which she wrote during Fleetwood Mac's "Rumour" period. Nicks is so proud of this new album that she's willing to play outdoors in her witchy wardrobe in the heat of the summer. Read an interview with the Fleetwood Mac siren in Monday's Variety section. (7:30 p.m. Wed., Mystic Lake Casino amphitheater, $33-$46.)

STEVIE NICKS Live in Atlanta... Included "For What It's Worth" Video

Stevie's show went off without a hitch last night in Atlanta at Chastain Amphitheatre... Atlanta was originally scheduled for Monday night but because of medical reasons it was postponed until Wednesday which sadly meant cancelling Indianapolis.  We later found out that it was Stevie's vocal chords that were sore... Not so much from the singing but from talking.  She had been doing a lot of press lately and being the chatty person that she is... she just over did it a bit.  So that coupled with being on tour, just wore her voice down... So she obviously was advised to take a few days rest, which she did...

She spoke early in the show about how she had been on vocal rest due to press she had been doing for the new album... According to reports you could hear it in her speaking voice a little, but her singing voice was spot on!  The setlist remained intact from Woodlands on August 13th.  Two songs in total have been dropped since the beginning of the tour.. Sorcerer and unfortunately the lead track from her new album "In Your Dreams".  But with the ever popular Landslide back in the set and Leather and Lace, which hasn't been around in years... It's all good.  A noticeable change in the wardrobe department, Stevie ended the night in the white top she had been wearing beginning with Edge of Seventeen, but on this night she left out the white dress.
"FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH" VIDEO
Another major change was the "For What It's Worth" video made an appearance during her performance of the song... Descriptions of the new video for Stevie's new single, which hasn't actually premiered yet, say it looks really beautiful and very fitting for the song... The video was shot in the desert a few weeks ago with an old bus used as a backdrop as if they were driving across the USA.  Reports say there are a lot of close-ups of Stevie in the video - on the bus, getting her makeup done, playing guitar, hanging out with Dave Stewart and Mike Campbell.  Plus there are images of her standing out in the desert in black flowy chiffon with the wind blowing.  Stevie's niece Jessica, appears in the video as a makeup artist doing her makeup.... CAN'T WAIT TO SEE IT!!

Stevie Nicks brings the hits to Huntington Center

Stevie Nicks is a woman who needs little introduction.

As a add-on member of Fleetwood Mac in the late-'70s, she took the band to new heights, penning their one and only Billboard Hot 100 hit, and coming to personify the band itself with her signature vocal style and dramatic costuming.

As many a rock star were wont to do, Nicks gave way to infamous sexual promiscuity and drug abuse. But, unlike many, she was able to careen herself out of the ditch and hold down solo success throughout the '80s and '90s.

Having just released her first album in 10 years, In Your Dreams (produced by Eurythmics' Dave Stewart), Nicks brings her lovable, sultry style, decades-long string of hits, and unmistakable voice to Toledo. ... Or, at least that's the rumor.

Stevie Nicks performs at The Huntington Center (500 Jefferson) in Downtown Toledo on Friday, August 19. 8 p.m. Tickets are $49.50, $69.50, $89.50, and $125.

[VIDEO] Stevie Nicks Gold Dust Women & Secret Love at Hard Rock Calling London 2011

Friday on VH1 11pm - Bon Jovi, Rod Stewart, Stevie Nicks and the Killers are among the music acts captured live in London in this new concert special.

Stevie Nicks and Dave Stewart make a good team

Stevie Nicks is best known for her work with Fleetwood Mac.

By Jules E. Beuck
Highland News

She has also had quite a solo career as well. This year saw her touring with Rod Stewart and marked the release of a new Stevie Nicks album. The title of the album is “In Your Dreams” and features thirteen tracks.

Nicks’ back-up musicians include Waddy Wachtel on guitar, Dave Stewart guitar, and Mike Campbell (from Tom Petty’s band) guitar and bass. What helps this album the most is the producers. It is co-produced by Glen Ballard and Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics.

Ballard is well known in the business for his songwriting and producing talents. He has worked with many major artists including Alanis Morissette and Aerosmith.

However, Stewart’s influence is felt much more than Ballard’s. For example, he co-wrote seven of the songs on the album.

The first song on the album and first single “Secret Love” has Stewart’s stamp as it starts and ends as if in the middle. “Ghosts Are Gone” has a Eurhythmics feel to it. It also is a very energetic Rocker.

“In Your Dreams” also has the energy that Stewart brings to his work.
