Move Over Peter Green — How Les Paul Giant Lindsey Buckingham Took Fleetwood Mac to the Top

In the annals of Fleetwood Mac’s guitar history, Peter Green gets nearly all the black — in part because of his key role in making the Gibson Les Paul Sunburst an integral part of rock and blues history. But the Mac also featured another great Les Paul player who took lead of the band and helped the group reach its zenith of popularity: Lindsey Buckingham.

Dave Stewart "The Blackbird Diaries" Early Album Artwork

Dave Stewart posted the early artwork for his upcoming release titled "The Blackbird Diaries". Stevie Nicks, Colby Caillat & Martina McBride all make appearances on the album along with Tom Petty guitarist Mike Campbell. No official release date has been announced, but from what Dave has said so far he's planning for it to be a multi format release including CD, Double Gatefold Vinyl, 7" Vinyl Singles and A DVD Documentary (which I'm positive Stevie would be on if he recorded the album making process).

Dave is scheduled to play the Belcourt Theatre in Nashville, December 9, 2010.

Follow Dave Stewart on Twitter HERE and use #theblackbirddiaries tag in your tweets to be entered to win a nokia phone with the album fully loaded to it + Dave will fly the winner to his December Nashville show.

Dave and Stevie are back in the studio later this week to continue the work on Stevie's next solo album.  Keep up to date through the Dave and Stevie timeline HERE

"What Up With That"

I swear to god.... One of these days the REAL Lindsey Buckingham will surprise us and be sitting there on the panel of the SNL segment "What Up With That".  Repeatedly since last season Bill Hader has portrayed Lindsey sitting in along with two other guests who are the real deal during the Keenan Thompson singfest...  For instance on last nights episode, Morgan Freeman and Ernest Borgnine were sitting there with him.  None of them are essentially given the opportunity to speak least of all Lindsey who at the end of the segment gets the "Sorry Lindsey, we had to cut your song" at the end of the skit.  If they are given a chance to say something, they are cut off by Keenan singing over them. The segment isn't particularly hilarious, it's just odd, which makes it kinda funny.  Lindsey will likely rank up there in SNL history as one of the most portrayed/parodied musicians on the show...

HAPPY 61st BIRTHDAY - LINDSEY

Live Nation counts on concert warhorses (Like Fleetwood Mac) to revive ticket sales

Live Nation counts on concert warhorses to revive ticket sales next year - USATODAY.com: "The concert business will end 2010 on a sour note, Live Nation Executive Chairman Irving Azoff told analysts today.

'We're still not seeing a consumer recovery' in ticket sales, after a summer when revenues declined, Azoff said at a meeting organized by Liberty Media. Liberty owns 14% of Live Nation, the No. 1 owner of concert halls and, with Ticketmaster, an e-commerce powerhouse.

Next year may improve, he said, as hitmakers who sat on the sidelines in 2010 plan major tours. He's especially optimistic that the cast of the TV show Glee, Van Halen, Avril Lavigne, Christina Aguilera, and Fleetwood Mac will fill arenas and ampitheaters."
