"RUMOURS" AROUND THE WORLD - UK Sales Update

Debut Chart Postions and Updates on Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours" Re-Release.

Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours" remains within the UK's Top 10 for a second week on the Top 100 Albums Chart moving from #3 to #5 and selling 21,945 units down only slightly from last weeks 25,675. Two week UK total = 47,620. Not bad for a 36 year old album!

The album debuts at #12 in Ireland on the Top 100 Albums Chart and in Belgium the album zooms up to #18 after re-entering the Top 200 at #72 last week. The album also debuts in Canada at #33 and in Australia this week at #18 plus in Norway at #24. Rumours drops 10 places in the Netherlands to #17 in it's second week back on the chart after debuting in the #7 position on last weeks Top 40 Albums Chart.

Media traffic estimates that Fleetwood Mac's Rumours sold 43,000 copies in the first week of re-release in the countries they monitor giving it a #18 position on the World Albums Chart.

As previously reported, Rumours debuted this week at #40 in the US on Billboard's Top 200 Albums Chart.

Steven Tyler to join Mick Fleetwood Blues Band as a special guest - Wednesday!

“Sweet Emotions” are starting to flow now that it’s just been announced legendary Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler will be a special guest at the Fleetwood @ the MACC show at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

“Get comfortable with legendary Fleetwood Mac founder-drummer and Maui resident and entrepreneur, Mick Fleetwood, in a living room setting on stage,” states a “hot-off-the-press” email release sent out from the Maui Arts & Cultural Center this morning.

“Mick Fleetwood will talk story about his world travels, and there will be behind the scenes antics and musical influences. Then the 2010 Grammy Award nominated Mick Fleetwood Blues Band, featuring Rick Vito on guitar and vocals, Lenny Castellanos on bass and vocals and Mark Johnstone on keyboards and vocals, will perform their hits.” Rumour has it that Christine will also be up their jamming!

Johnnie Walker re-visits the decade that brought us Pan's People, Punk and Pink Floyd. This week's show is dedicated to one of the most enduring and beloved albums of the 1970's: 'Rumours' by Fleetwood Mac.

35 years on, with 45 million copies sold, the confessional 1977 LP from a band embroiled in personal drama still sounds as compelling and fresh as it did on release. Johnnie talks to the drummer who leant his name to the band, Mick Fleetwood, about how the album came to be written.

'Rumours' was the work of the second incarnation of Fleetwood Mac, at the turn of the 1970's founder member and blues guitarist Peter Green left the band. The next few years gave a flavour of what was to come; a revolving door of troubled band members and relationship drama. In 1974 Mick Fleetwood, along with John and Christine McVie recruited Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks and 'Rumours'-era Fleetwood Mac was born. Mick talks to Johnnie about life in the Fleetwood Mac bubble, from the relationship dynamics of the band to drug abuse and rock and roll decadence and the strange alchemy that produced such iconic songs as 'Dreams', 'Go Your Own Way' and 'The Chain'.

Fleetwood Mac Live 1977 Rumours Tour: "This is the holy grail for Mac fans"

It’s certainly not news that Fleetwood Mac’s “Rumors” is a pop masterpiece, a high-water mark in the annals of ’70s California-based rock and pop. Very few self-respecting record collectors or rock historians would consider their collection complete without it. We all know the story of its creation – how the songs reflected the romantic turmoil within the band, as various relationships crumbled, principally the very torrid one between singer Stevie Nicks and guitarist/songwriter Lindsey Buckingham. What we may not know is what a fantastic live ensemble this particular lineup of Fleetwood Mac was. This new anniversary edition gives us a beautifully remastered version of the original album, with the inclusion of the revered outtake “Silver Springs” tacked on, and a whole disc’s worth of alternate versions and outtakes, too. But the grand prize is the full live concert from the 1977 “Rumors” world tour, which takes up a full disc. This is the holy grail for Mac fans, and makes the anniversary edition a must-have. 4 stars (Jeff Miers - The Buffalo News).

All these feelings dramas and separations were finally processed in the songs. The Canadian newspaper "The Globe and Mail" called "Rumours" even the "unofficial soundtrack to the distinctive culture". The History of Fleetwood Mac but is not over: The band, which was recorded in 1998 in the "Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame", has reunited and goes on To urnee - to Germany. In October, she will be in Cologne, Stuttgart and Berlin - but without Christine McVie.

FLEETWOOD Mac’s loyal fans who registered on a ticket presales site are furious after being offered only single seats for their Glasgow gig.

The band line-up of Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham will be among the first to grace the stage at new city venue The Hydro this autumn with their Rumours 35th anniversary tour.

Fans who had registered with the Hydro website were on wednesday given an early chance to get their hands on tickets but the pre-sale allocation quickly ran out.

Another pre-sale, held yesterday for people who had signed up to distributor Ticket Soup’s website, also saw the second allocation quickly snapped up as keen fans swooped.

Now anyone still chasing much-soughtafter tickets will have to hope they are lucky in the public sale which began this morning.

one disgruntled music lover from Glasgow, said: “I am signed up to thehydro.com and I had hoped to be able to get a pair of tickets in the presale on wednesday but all that was available was single seats … I am really disappointed.

“I thought that with a venue that has a 12,000 capacity and with such a high profile concert I would have been in with a good chance of landing them.”

Tickets for the concert, to be staged on october 3, range in price from £45 to £125.

The SECC confirmed that a certain amount were allocated to the pre-sales and some held back for today’s general release but they would not confirm how many were up for grabs on each day.

A spokeswoman said demand for tickets had been “very strong”

She added: “There were two pre sales – on wednesday and Thursday – and a general release today.

“The pre-sales were well advertised on our website.”

Fleetwood Mac last toured the UK in 2009 with the sold-out Unleashed Tour.

New venue the Hydro is due to open in September and the showcase event will have a Commonwealth Games theme to reflect the spor ts extravaganza which will get under way in Glasgow in the summer of next year.
