Defying her 74 years of age, Stevie Nicks showed she still has it!

Stevie Nicks caps a Bonnaroo for the ages

There has been perhaps no greater mark of punctuation at the Bonnaroo Music Festival than Stevie Nicks on Sunday night.

Defying her 74 years of age, Nicks showed she still has what it takes to captivate a crowd, her signature siren of a voice piercing the night to stir sing-a-longs and bring reflection.

The multi-generation crowd, many not even born when Nicks was at the height of her career with Fleetwood Mac, soaked in the weight of her song -- her voice and knack for melody still as sharp as ever.

The crowd was still for “Landslide,” a song Nicks said she’s performed at every one of her concerts since 1975, the words carrying as much weight as ever for the star rocker who is still able to perform for 1 hour and 45 minutes in 5-inch heels.

"Well, I’ve been afraid of changin’

Cause I’ve built my life around you

But time makes you bolder

Even children get older

And I’m getting older too"

In a concert filled with highlights, Nicks belted out an extended version of “Gold Dust Woman” like she was still 27, then finished with a four-song encore that included a version of Led Zeppelin’s “Rock N Roll” as her final number.

The show was rich with Tom Petty recognition. Nicks told the crowd she didn’t have a single for her “Belladonna” album before her producer had her put a song written by Petty on it called “Stop Dragging My Heart Around.”

“I guess you could say I found my single,” Nicks told the crowd.

She followed that classic later in the concert with “Free Fallin,” a 1989 Tom Petty song. In showing the depth of her song collection, she offered up a jukebox of hits that included “Gypsy,” “Edge of Seventeen” and “Stand Back.”

I've seen her many times and actually got to meet her and spend time with her. Make no mistake. I love Stevie Nicks but she is 74 and it shows on stage when she walks. I know she's heavy again and 74 is not young. Yes she is still wonderful but I feel like she needs to settle down as far as touring. She has plenty to do. Reading, writing, poetry, singing, etc.

What why would she settle down! That would age her for sure!! Let her enjoy until her dying day!! Rock on stevie!!! ❤️❤️❤️

A week ago I might have agreed with you. 74 is 74 and no one lasts forever. However, I ended up with last-minute tickets to one of her shows and…I was shocked at how good it was. While her joints are apparently 74, her voice sounded great. She was very in control of her “instrument”. Better show than when I saw her 5 years ago.

I'm sure Stevie will take it under advisement from you....

At 74 yrs of age she is an inspiration to us all, to stay active, keep moving and keep doing what you love. Half of the Uk and USA will be dead by the time they are 74 if they don’t start eating less and moving more…..as they say….just saying

Heavy? 🙄

Wow. You managed to jab her for having a more cautious walk and BONUS: You jabbed her for weight AND you’re telling her “slow down”. It’s easy to criticize from your couch or bed. Stevie is ON STAGE singing and performing and sharing and is actively doing something. Go back to wiping your fingers from the Pringle’s chips you’re likely eating on your PJ bottoms. By the way…if you truly spent time with her then you’d know that she has terrible vision. Of course she is cautious on stage! And please don’t comment on anyone’s weight. I doubt, even you, could share a photo of your latest Sport’s Illustrated cover… When you ‘spent time’ with Stevie, I hope you were less cringy.

I love you, I love you, I love you like never before.

No one tells Springsteen to stay home and write poetry. She is a boss lady and has earned her place in rock. 25,000 of us thought so at her show last night and also thought she still has the chops to headline. I hope she never stops.

At 74 I can just hope I look, as good as she does, and have the energy she has.

Still beautiful at 74, one could only hope to look, that good and have, that much energy at 74.

She Rocks!

She maybe getting heavier I don't know for sure but I am 72 and the one and only concert I ever went to was Fleetwood Mac at Joe Louis in Detroit late 70's loved her then and still do.

I was there! Simply awesome hearing 20,000 people sing " landslide" she stole the whole show

She hasn't toured much over the last 2 years. I think she should go back to her sneakers rather than the boots. That's part of the problem. Other than that, I say keep going doing what you love to do. She sounds great!

I think if she is still got it, who care. More power to her. She is an awesome performer! So she is 74 and heavier, as you say, but she laughs all the way to the bank.

For the asshats that talk about Stevie's weight or her age! Really.. Must we make comments like that.. Shame on you!! Stevie Nicks is a rock star a true legend forever! She is absolutely the "GOAT" of rock n roll. I love Stevie!!

If you truly spent time with Stevie then you would know that slowing down would kill her. I think she looks beautiful. She is not going to spin around the stage like she used to and she has a bad knee and hip. She knows her fans are expecting her to twirl and she does her best. Would you rather she overdo it and hurt herself so she will not be able to perform at all? Be happy she is still able to do what she does - no matter how old she is, she will always be Stevie Nicks. Love her for who she is now and not judge her on how she used to be. She can still sing and hold her fans spellbound. Stevie, we love you.

She’s pure inspiration. Saw her on the cover of a special People magazine edition featuring just her. Wow! What a beauty! She never ages! She has no lines or wrinkles or even laugh lines. I don’t know how she managed this other than really protecting her face from the sun all these years! I’m 58 and I even have crows feet 👣! She has been the soundtrack to my life. Whether she is sing with Fleetwood Mac or solo, I love everything she does. She is a super woman!! God bless her and keep her in good health!
