NEW YORK, July 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Logo, a division of Viacom Inc.'s (NYSE: VIA and VIA.B) MTV Networks, announced today the launch of a new series of specials, "NewNowNext Icons," focusing on the timeless music legends that have reached icon status in the eyes of the LGBT community and the greater world of pop culture. The special premieres with an intimate interview by award-winning music artist and visionary Stevie Nicks airing July 19 at 12 AM Midnight ET/PT and LOGOonline.com.

In the premiere of this half-hour special, "NewNowNext Icons," Stevie Nicks discusses various aspects of her career as a solo artist and part of legendary rock band Fleetwood Mac. Nicks also opens up about her own inspirations, future projects and her thoughts on why the LGBT community has embraced her music and persona. Dubbed the "reigning queen of Rock and Roll" by Rolling Stone Magazine, Nicks recently released her "Live in Chicago" DVD celebrating her first live recorded performance since 1985, as well as the recent release of her new CD "The Soundstage Sessions." Along with Fleetwood Mac, Stevie has produced over forty Top 50 hits and has sold nearly 120 million albums.

The newest show in the "NewNowNext" family takes on these legends with hosted spots, music videos, and archival footage including rarely seen interviews from the MTV and VH1 vaults. Past hosts of "NewNowNext Music" and "NewNowNext Pop Lab" including Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson, Lilly Allen, Lady GaGa, Del Marquis of "Scissor Sisters," La Roux and Fischerspooner represent the upcoming icons of tomorrow. "NewNowNext Icons" will consist of a series of specials premiering throughout the year highlighting the rare few that have reached such superstardom as headliners such as Stevie Nicks.

FLEETWOOD MAC #2 IN NORTH AMERICA #6 WORLDWIDE

FLEETWOOD MAC RANKS 2nd IN NORTH AMERICA BEHIND BRITNEY SPEARS
Pollstar has released it's mid year Top 100 North American Concert Tours for the first six months of 2009. Fleetwood Mac is #2 in North America with a gross of 54.8 million on 53 shows.

On the Top 25 Worldwide Tours - Fleetwood Mac rank #6.

Considering the economy in North America this past year along with Fleetwood Mac not promoting any new material but touring behind their past hits, I think they did quite well with a million dollar average per show.

STEVIE NICKS ON THE ULTIMATE SHOWMAN (MICHAEL JACKSON)

Michael Jackson Remembered:

I remember before [we performed at Bill Clinton's 1993 inauguration], Michael sent somebody to find out if I had any foundation make-up he could borrow. I was using some light Chanel foundation at that time, and Michael sent back a note to say, thanks, but the foundation wasn't quite light enough for him. He meant that in show business, the stage is everywhere — it's when you leave the parking lot, when you go to the mall. It's about trying your best to be as perfect as possible. It's the reason Michael was like royalty. There's no other person like that, because the era of performers — the Frank Sinatras, the Elizabeth Taylors, the Sammy Davis Jr.s — is over. He was the last emperor.

Rolling Stone's special commemorative Michael Jackson issue featuring tributes from Quincy Jones, Slash, Brooke Shields and more is available now.
