Some ups that are worth mentioning: the new 'Sad Angel' fit perfectly between the old hits. That was obviously good news, because new material from old bands dare already to disappoint. Also the more experimental work of the album  Tusk caused goosebumps moments: a slickly 'Tusk' overwhelmed the audience and at 'Sara' Nicks had her second wind (thankfully) found. Yet it was the absolute hits like 'Landslide', 'Go Your Own Way' and 'Do not Stop' that people did right springs and a second youth did experience.

NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN

Fleetwood Mac @ Sportpaleis: One minute, boring, another brilliant
Focus.knack.be

The highlight of the evening was, in our opinion, the drawn-out, brooding, slightly psychedelic version of 'Gold Dust Woman', which expressed Fleetwood Mac gave exciting things still to be able to. Also strong: to Deep Purple leaning hard rock ballad "I'm So Afraid", which Buckingham was like a madman on the strings to time. His solos were intense, both technically and emotionally, an experience.

IN A SENTENCE: At its best moments the band played brilliant pop songs with a timeless character, its worst she sounded routine, predictable and uninspired.

HIGHLIGHTS: 'Gold Dust Woman' , "Big Love," "Landslide," "Dreams," "Rhiannon," "I'm So Afraid", "World Turning '.

LOWS: 'Not That Funny', 'Tusk', 'Sad Angel'.

BEST QUOTE Stevie Nicks: "Thanks to admit that we still do find the finest us. You are our dream catchers. So write soon, before you go to sleep, in a note: "Stevie thinks I'm extraordinary. Because I really believe. "

OUTFITS:
The setlist may not change... But the clothes are.  Lindsey's been sporting all black since they've hit continental Europe.  Black jeans, t-shirt and jacket... Gone are the blue jeans and leather jacket. He looks nice and classy and it's a nice change. We only saw Lindsey wear the all black with the jacket once or maybe twice in North America.  Stevie's outfits on the other hand have been pretty static this tour except for a few different boots have been worn at different times and she's opted out of the new Rhiannon cape or shawl that she started the tour with substituting it for one she's used on previous tours - not sure why.  Her choice of gloves have been moving around a little from the finger-less ones on both hands, to just one finger-less glove on one hand and a full on glove on the other, back to the gloves with the chainmail cuffs, back and forth etc.  Well not to be outdone in the outfit department, tonight in Antwerp, Stevie's changed the outfit she's worn to open the show completely - moving back to the frilly dress and top with sheer arms that she wore back in 2011/2012 during the In Your Dreams tour. Either way, she to looks nice. Everyone needs a change every once in awhile.

The other difference with this show is they dropped "Silver Springs" from the set on this night.

REVIEW. Fleetwood Mac surprised and bored in Sportpaleis
Nieuwsblad.be

(google translation)
64, 65, 67 and 66 years, Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks, John McVie and Mick Fleetwood now, but together form the four still Fleetwood Mac. At the ripe old age they were Wednesday night with their band at the Sportpaleis in Antwerp, but a performance that captivated from beginning to end they did not gave.

With 'Rumours' in 1977 drew Fleetwood Mac for the fourth best-selling album of all time and "Go Your Own Way', 'Dreams' and' Do not Stop 'they wrote songs that still have their place on the playlist of any self-respecting radio station. It was with very great curiosity that we went to the Arena to finally live at work to see the band.

A first surprise was waiting at the entrance. Would be no question of standing during the performance: the center square was filled with chairs, so everyone sitting at the show could look. Not unwise, because the average age of the audience was palpable at a higher than average performance at the Sportpaleis.

Solid start

With 'Second Hand News', also the opener of successful album 'Rumours', knew the action a solid start. The four protagonists smiled at each other it was a sweet sound and showed a first time where the public could expect to: a performance full of guitar solos, tight drums and - especially considering the age - remarkably good singing.

What also became clear soon, is that Fleetwood Mac is a band with multiple faces. On the one hand there are poppy tunes, on the other hand brings Fleetwood Mac psychedelic and often some long drawn numbers and in between there are sentimental and fragile versions of some famous songs.

The latter was the case with 'Looking out for love "and" Never going back again. " Goosebumps from the first to the last minute it was, respectively Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks in a leading role. Unfortunately, the second face, psychedelic and was - yes, anyway - sometimes tedious, less popular. Especially the endless solos did the thoughts of those present already differ on how long it would take to get there. Damn highway soon again

Not high enough

The crowd went completely or tack on hits like "Go Your Own Way ',' Dreams' and 'Do not Stop'. A number fell unfortunately some in the water: in 'Rhiannon' was obvious that Stevie Nicks no longer the singer of yesteryear. But they failed in the high notes well produce in the chorus and disillusioned as a bit. A little, because for the rest there was little to complain about.

The hero of the evening, that was Mick Fleetwood. The founder and drummer of the band played there with moments like a madman on the loose in a warm room with some spots on him: I see the average 66-year-old not imitate him quickly. Lindsey Buckingham also surprised in his 64th year of life by a whole act to stay on stage long - for which he was also praised by Fleetwood - and his excellent guitar solos.

The lost demo tape

The strangest and most mesmerizing moment of action came when Buckingham and Nicks had just "Never going back again" sung. They warned the public it - "It is a long banter '- but a 10-minute explanation of any lost demo tape and the question of Mick Fleetwood to get to the band took us a little bit too long.

The occurrence of Fleetwood Mac in the Arena will be remembered as a nice quiet evening out with at the age of four musicians who showed remarkably spry. A night out with ups and downs however, we occasionally considered a little earlier than usual to go home, but still every time something happened just in time to keep. Us alert Unfortunately we got hit 'Everywhere', 'You make loving fun' and 'Little lies' not to hear.

BIG LOVE
