3rd Week For Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours" in the UK Top 10 - Chart Update

Fleetwood Mac's 35th Anniversary Edition of Rumours hangs in there for a 3rd week on the UK's Top 100 Album Charts giving it the distinction of being the biggest selling album by a veteran artist for the last 3 week.  It moves down one position this week to #6 selling 14,665 units in the UK.  Elsewhere on the charts, "Rumours" is the #1 Catalogue Album and Tango In The Night, and album we haven't seen back on the chart is a long while re-enters the Top 40 Catalogue Albums Chart at #37.  In Scotland the album stays at #6 for a second week.

In the US, "Rumours" moves down slightly on the Top 200 Albums Chart to #64 with 8,496 units sold for the week after debuting back on the chart last week at #40 with 10,818 copies sold.  For the second consecutive week the album remains the #1 Catalogue title in the US.  Since November, 1991, Rumours has sold 3,144,699 copies in the US which is when Soundscan began tracking over the counter sales of albums.

Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours" Re-enters Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart this week

Fleetwood Mac's Rumour album re-enters the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart once again this week at #129 marking it's 150th non-consecutive week on the chart.  Album sales for the week ending September 23, 2012 were up an impressive 137% or 3,421 units sold in the US versus 1,441 in the previous sale period.  The albums also up on the top Catalogue Albums Chart to #13.  Since November, 1991 when over the counter album sales and subsequently digital sales began being tracked by soundscan, the album has sold 2,994,382 units in the US.  Which on average works out to approximately 150,000 copies sold per year since 1991.

1977's RUMOURS moves down one place this week to #92 but increases in sales by 2% with 1,928 units sold for the week vs 1,891 the previous week. Of the 1,928, Digital sales amounted to 1,075. Since November, 1991 the album has sold 2,984,146 units in the US.

1975's FLEETWOOD MAC moves up to #116 from #130 last week with a 5% increase in sales to a total of 1,682 units sold for the week vs 1,599 the previous week. Of the 1,682 units sold, 1,364 were Physical album sales.  Total US sales since November, 1991 = 865,475.

2002's THE VERY BEST OF moves down to #141 this week from #112 last week.  Total US sales for the week were 1,557 vs 1,688. All 1,557 US sales were physical album purchases, as the album isn't available digitally in the US.  Total US sales for the double CD set to date is 1,506,828.  By crossing the 1.5 million in sales mark, the album now qualifies to be certified for 3 x Platinum in the US.  Because it's a double album, each cd in the set is counted towards certification, so for every sale, its like 2 albums are sold.

Greatest Hits moves up to #107 from #174 the previous week on a 52% sales increase selling 1,878 copies vs 1,238 the previous week. Total US sales since November, 1991 = 4,575,629. On the Top 200 Catalogue Albums Chart, Fleetwood Mac have 4 albums in the top half beginning with Greatest Hits at #40 down from #9 last week.  The Very Best Of is perched at #56, up from #59 last week.  Rumours moves down to #61 from #40 last week and Fleetwood Mac moves down to #103 from #50 last week.  The Very Best Of sold 2,394 copies vs 2,533 the previous week for an accumulated total in the US since 2002 of 1,497,624.  Rumours sold 2,293 vs 2,889 the previous week for an accumulated total in the US since November, 1991 of 2,973,327. The self titled 1975 Fleetwood Mac album sold 1,932 vs 2,658 the previous week for a total of 857,565 since November, 1991.

On the Top 200 Catalogue Physical Albums Chart Fleetwood Mac's Very Best Of is at #15 this week, down one place from last week.  Physical sales = 2,394.  Fleetwood Mac is at #56 down from #16 the previous week with physical album sales of 1,761 vs 2,488 the previous week.  Stevie Nicks' Bella Donna moves up to #152 on the Physical Album Sales Chart from #158 last week with 1,134 in sales vs 1,163 last week.  Total album sales in the US since November, 1991 = 868,135.  Stevie's Crystal Visions re-enters the Physical Album Sales chart with 1,002 sold for the week vs 995 the previous week.  Total albums sales in the US for Crystal Visions since it's release in 2007 = 394,476.  February, 2011 was the last update on sales for Crystal Visions which at the time was sitting at 348,000 units sold.

On the Top 200 Digital Catalogue Songs Chart last week Landslide sold 5,585 digital units vs 5,033 the previous week. In the last two weeks the song has moved 10,618 digital copies.  Total to date digital sales = 894,947.

Two Albums drop out of the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart and one re-enters... Fleetwood Mac's The Very Best Of drops out of the Top 200 after a 4 week stay.  Fleetwood Mac's 1975 white album also drops out after re-entering last week at #187. Rumours re-enters at #191.

Fleetwood Mac's Greatest Hits remains on the chart dropping down to #91 after re-entering the Top 200 last week at #65. Sales for Greatest Hits this week are 5,612 vs 6,544 the previous week, a decline of 14%.  Total sales since November, 1991 in the US = 4,568,278.

Fleetwood Mac's Rumours re-enters the Top 200 Albums Chart this week at #191 selling 2,889 units for the week up 17% over the previous week where the album sold 2,467.  Total album sales since November, 1991 in the US = 2,971,034. With Rumours re-entering the Top 200 it reclaims the title from "Fleetwood Mac" as the longest-running Mac album on the Billboard Top 200. "Fleetwood Mac" reached 149 weeks on the big chart last week, matching "Rumours", but it falls off the chart this week as "Rumours" returns and reaches the 150 week mark.

On the Top 50 Catalogue Albums Chart, Fleetwood Mac place 3 titles, the most of any act.  Greatest Hits at #9 is down two places from last week.  Rumours at #40 is up 10 spots from last week, and 1975's Fleetwood Mac is down 10 spots to #50 this week.  The Very Best of drops out of the Top 50 on the chart this week.

Amazing... Fleetwood Mac have 3 albums on this weeks Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart!

Fleetwood Mac's 1988 Greatest Hits album re-enters Billboards Top 200 Albums Chart this week at #65 with US sales for the week of 6,544 units, up from 2,222 last week (195% increase). This marks the albums 32nd non-consecutive week on the Top 200. The album is also sitting at #7 on the Top 200 Catalogue Charts, up from #78 and at #4 on the Top 200 Catalogue Digital Albums Chart up from #42. The album was an Amazon Deal a little over a week ago discounted to $2.99 for the digital download which contributed to the large sales increase.  The album continues today at $2.99 on Amazon. Total digital sales for this reporting period were 5,864 a 320% increase over the previous weeks number of 1,397. Overall total US sales since November, 1991 are 4,562,666.

Fleetwood Mac's self titled 1975 white album also re-enters the Top 200 Chart this week at #187 on sales of 2,864 units, up from 261 units the previous week. Total sales for the white 1975 Fleetwood Mac album in the US since November, 1991 are 852,975.  This marks this albums 149th non-consecutive week on the chart.   The album also re-entered the Top 200 Catalogue Charts at #40.  The album also re-entered the Top 200 Catalogue Physical Chart at #11 with 2,712 physical units sold. The 2004 re-released remastered album with bonus tracks was discounted at Amazon for $5.00, not as a digital download but for the actual disc! That's a pretty amazing deal! The AMAZON sale has since ended.

For a 4th Week, Fleetwood Mac's 2002 double cd release "The Very Best Of" remains on the Top 200 Chart - albeit in second last place moving down the chart from #181 to #199.  Sales for the week were 2,682 vs 3,134 the previous week, a 14% sales decline. Total US sales for The Very Best Of are 1,492,697 - just shy of triple platinum (each sold unit is counted as 2 because the set contains 2 discs). Unless the album receives a boost in sales, it will likely drop off next weeks chart.  The album is also charting on the Top Catalogue Charts at #43 down from #37 the previous week and on the Top 200 Physical Chart at #12, down from #7 the previous week.

Rumours remains on a few charts in the US as well.  On the Top 200 Catalogue Albums Chart the album moves up to #50 from #107 the previous week on unit sales of 2,467 vs 1,991 the previous week, a 24% sales increase. The album is also sitting at #180 on the Top 200 Catalogue Physical Charts, down from #163 the previous week. Physical sales of the CD were 1,034 vs 1,139 the previous week.  On the Top 200 Catalogue Digital Albums Chart the album moves up to #34 from #107 the previous week on digital sales of 1,433 vs 851 the previous week.  Total US sales for Rumours since November, 1991 are 2,968,145.

Stevie Nicks 1981 debut album Bella Donna finds itself hanging on to #192 on the Top 200 Catalogue Physical Albums Chart, up from #199 last week.  Sales for the week were static at 1,011 units sold.  Total album sales since November, 1991 are 865,838.
