Official Statement from Fleetwood Mac regarding last night's show

"Last night's Fleetwood Mac show in Lincoln, Nebraska ended a few songs early when the band's founder and drummer Mick Fleetwood became ill with the stomach flu. At this time, the band is still scheduled to perform in Grand Rapids, MI on Tuesday."

Backup percussionist Steve did a great job last night filling in for Mick drumming the classic Go Your Own Way! Well done Steve, well done!

I certainly hope that Mick is feeling better. Kudos to him for making the effort when not feeling well. But having attended the concert, and considering the circumstances, I think most attendees would have preferred that the group had simply completed the concert with the backup drummer.

I think they did the right thing. Fleetwood Mac (especially now that Christine is back) are five equally important musicians. And it wouldn't be very classy for them to carry on singing song after song on stage having a party while Mick is backstage throwing up, as though he is replaceable. The did the exact right thing, gave the audience a shortened ending to the show and told them they would play the show over. And they will, you can bet they will reschedule another show there and let the same audience use their same tickets, or get replacements. They are a class rock act, not a circus revue.

Could they not have then performed piano or acoustic guitar selections. Stevie sings Gypsy and then Lady. Lindsey and Christine each do a couple.

Well said! Mick is one of the founding members of the group, I'm sure they felt they shouldn't go on without him. Looking forward to their return performance!

Was at the Lincoln concert and although cut short, it was still amazing. Hope Mick is feeling better, the stomach virus is rough. Can't imagine leaving my home with it, let alone banging on drums at a rock concert!
