STEVIE NICKS SOUNDSTAGE SESSIONS LIVE IN CHICAGO

STEVIE NICKS THE SOUNDSTAGE SESSIONS
LIVE IN CHICAGO

On July 17, 2008, Stevie Nicks' Soundstage premiered in the US.  This two-hour concert was broadcast over two nights in July on the 17th and 24th.

"This is the first time since 1985 that I have had one of my live shows filmed and recorded," said Nicks. "We spent three years perfecting this show which we began in Vegas in October of 2007. I could not move on until we filmed this show. Luckily "Soundstage" producer Joe Thomas, who saw the show many times, felt the same way. I am as proud of this as anything I've ever done in my entire career."

This show was filmed in October 2007 before a live audience at Grainger Studios in Chicago for the PBS program "Soundstage".  The Joe Thomas-directed show was made available to purchase on DVD online shortly after the broadcast in July 2008 exclusively through the PBS website.  It would take Reprise until March 31, 2009, to release the DVD "Live in Chicago and the accompanying 10-track CD "The Soundstage Sessions" commercially worldwide.

Aside from the cover, the difference between the two DVDs is the setlist on the televised PBS version and subsequent DVD release, it didn't include "Dreams" or the bonus track "Landslide" (with orchestra).  The other omission from both versions of the DVD was the last song of the night "Beauty and The Beast". The song was filmed twice that night once with the background screen showing scenes from the film La Belle et la Bête, and once without the film clips.  These scenes had been used by Stevie as background during her '07 tour and rights were secured for that purpose - but for whatever reason permission wasn't granted for Stevie to use the film clips on the DVD.  Even though a backup version of the song had been filmed, not including the film clips, it was decided not to use the song entirely for the DVD.  But not all was lost as the audio version of the song appeared on the CD version of the show.

The "Live In Chicago" DVD includes timeless Nicks songs from her solo projects as well as songs written as a member of  Fleetwood Mac. All the Stevie classics are included such as the energetic opening track "Stand Back," "Rhiannon," "Dreams," "Gold Dust Woman," "Landslide" and "Edge Of Seventeen," the DVD also features a few really great cover songs, Dave Matthews' "Crash Into Me" Led Zeppelin's "Rock And Roll" and Bonnie Raitts "Circle Dance" in which Vanessa Carlton makes her second appearance.

"We wanted everything on the DVD and CD to look and sound perfect and I think we succeeded," said Nicks.

"The Soundstage Sessions" CD included 10 songs extracted from the "Live In Chicago" DVD.  Nicks brought the songs from the show to Nashville and worked once again with Joe Thomas in the studio where they added "Nashville Strings" and additional vocals.  They also removed the audience from the live recording giving it a more "live in the studio" feel.  The CD features a lush orchestral version of "Landslide", the bonus track audio from the DVD, and other Nicks gems including "Stand Back," "Crash Into Me," "Sara," "Fall From Grace", "If Anyone Falls In Love" and "Beauty and The Beast" a faithful restating of the song, which closed "The Wild Heart" in 1983. Lost in the rapture of her lyrics, Nicks captivates for seven minutes. Accompanied by just strings, piano, and her background vocalists.  She dubs her performance “the Witherspoon vocal” after a woman who attended the recording of the song in Nashville.

Ahead of the official release date of March 31, 2009, digital downloads of "Crash Into Me" and "Landslide" (orchestral version) were made available on Amazonmp3.com on March 17th. "Enchanted", was available March 31st as a bonus on Amazonmp3.com if you purchased the digital version of the CD. "Gold Dust Woman" and "Edge Of Seventeen" were the bonus tracks available exclusively on iTunes on March 31st.

An exclusive Limited Edition CD/DVD set featuring different cover art inside and out called "The Soundstage Sessions Live in Chicago" was made available to purchase exclusively through Stevie's record label Warner Bros.  If you purchased this set, you received instant downloadable tracks "Rhiannon" and "The One" both not included on the CD.  Also, anyone who purchased this Limited Edition early on also received an 8x10 never before-seen Lithograph of Stevie.

The Soundstage Sessions CD and Live in Chicago DVD are for the most part satisfying because Stevie sounds and looks fantastic.

Stevie, one of the most successful female artists in rock history and the embodiment of the transcendent power of music is a multi-platinum, multi-Grammy Award-winning Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and a member of the legendary Fleetwood Mac.

Fleetwood Mac was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, the same year that her box set Enchanted came out. In 2001, Nicks released her last Studio album Trouble in Shangri-La, this time with friends Sheryl Crow, Sarah McLachlan, Dixie Chick Natalie Maines, and Macy Gray and in 2003 joined Fleetwood Mac for the reunion album Say You Will.  In 2004 Fleetwood Mac released the DVD Live in Boston.  In the spring of 2007, Reprise released the CD/DVD Crystal Visions: The Very Best of Stevie Nicks, an extraordinary collection of songs and videos spanning the legendary singer/songwriter's career.

After touring the world with Fleetwood Mac for the better part of 2009 on the Unleashed Tour, and spending pretty much this last decade celebrating her work as a solo artist and with Fleetwood Mac, Stevie's back in the Studio working with Dave Stewart and many others she's worked with over the years recording tracks for a long overdue new studio album.  No official date has been given for the release, but given her past track record, it looks like it might be a spring 2001 release with touring dates likely to follow.

In the meantime, Stevie's lined up a short run of shows beginning August 4th in Santa Barbara, CA.

FIESTY STEVIE NICKS!

Stevie Nicks blasts Lindsay, Britney
The Fleetwood Mac icon has harsh words for certain younger ‘messy’ and ‘dippy’ singers
Mcleans Magazine

If anyone has the right to give advice to the Britney Spearses and Lindsay Lohans of the world, it’s Stevie Nicks. In her more-than-30-year career as a solo singer and as one of the lead vocalists of the rock group Fleetwood Mac, the 61-year-old icon has paved the way for women in the music industry. And she has the war wounds to prove it. From battles with drug addiction to notorious love affairs, her life is tailor-made for a Hollywood film. Which is probably why Lindsay Lohan keeps telling reporters about her burning desire to play Nicks in a yet-to-be-made Fleetwood Mac biopic. This has Nicks a little concerned. Via phone from a presidential suite in New York City, she repeats the words “over my dead body” when the mention of a Lindsay-as-Stevie movie comes up. “That girl is the antithesis of everything that I don’t want for younger girls to be. I don’t want anyone as messy as her messing with my history.”

The legacy Nicks is so protective of is still going strong. This spring she has been busy promoting her latest two projects—a DVD called Live In Chicago and a live CD titled The Soundstage Sessions—as well as reconnecting on stage with Fleetwood Mac on its current greatest-hits North American tour. Packed with five remaining Canadian concert dates, the tour has Nicks performing more than 50 shows, many of which are sold out. Which explains why Hollywood execs have been banging on her door. “Most of them,” she says, “want to focus on when I first joined the band and the three fun, crazy years after that. Quite frankly, I don’t blame them—they were a roller-coaster ride!”

To clarify, Nicks is talking about when she and her then-lover, guitarist-vocalist Lindsey Buckingham, became members of Fleetwood Mac in 1975 (joining drummer Mick Fleetwood, vocalist Christine McVie and bassist John McVie). Shortly after the group’s first album together, Nicks experienced the side effects of being in a band with three Top 20 singles. “I was a waitress and Lindsey was a telemarketer back then,” Nicks recalls. “By the end of the summer, we were millionaires. It transformed our lives completely. Then Rumours happened and everything went berserk.”

Nicks is referring to Fleetwood Mac’s hit 1977 disc, which sold more than 30 million copies. According to Nicks, the title of the disc was prophetic on many levels. “I fell in love with Mick [Fleetwood] at the end of the Rumours tour in 1978 while I was still on rocky ground with Lindsey. Fortunately Mick and I ended it for the sake of the band. Around that time, people began saying that I was performing witchcraft—which I never did—and that the band had orgies—which we never had.”

On top of the widely reported false accusations, Nicks had to deal with a growing substance abuse problem. The miracle of it all was that she was still able to write songs (chart toppers Edge of Seventeen, Stand Back and Landslide) while maintaining a sense of mystery about herself. That secrecy is something Nicks feels is missing in the pop stars of today. She points to Britney Spears as a prime example of a singer who has overexposed herself beyond repair. “For her, it’s all about TMI: too much information. She needs to stop sharing. Period. After that toxic reality series she did, I decided I will never buy another one of her CDs because now I know how dippy she is.” When Nicks hears that Spears cursed about wardrobe malfunctions while performing on stage during her recent tour, her voice begins to thunder. “You do not tell the audience about your stupid-ass problems,” she says. “You will never, ever see a sweat drop start to fly off of my face—even if my heel is broken. I’ll do the song heel-less. People paid good money for you to take away their problems and inspire them.”

Other than her beef with Britney, Nicks has a record of embracing the newer divas on the block. “The fact that Etta James got so angry about Beyoncé singing At Last at President Obama’s first dance is tragic. C’mon Etta, just let Beyoncé sing it—she’s the new thing. [James] is still selling concert tickets so she should move over for a moment.” And with that, Nicks pipes down, takes a breath and begins to reflect. “In music history, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard and Elvis were all called the kings of rock and managed to be quite amicable to each other. They even did shows together! There is no reason why us women can’t do the same. Besides, I don’t want to be known as a queen of rock. When you start having to tell people that you are the queen, you’re done.”

STEVIE NICKS CELEBRATES NEW SOLO

Night of the one and only Stevie
Stevie Nicks celebrates new solo album, Fleetwood Mac tour, and the gay fans who spawned the ‘Night of a Thousand Stevies’

SOVO.com
Friday, Apr 24, 2009 | By: GREGG SHAPIRO

More than three decades into her musical career, Stevie Nicks has charted dozens of hits, sold millions of albums, been dubbed “the queen of rock and roll” and even spawned her own drag queen tribute show.

But the singer-songwriter who helped make the band Fleetwood Mac famous with such hits as “Landslide” and “Rhiannon” isn’t resting on her laurels. Last month, Nicks released a solo DVD, “Live in Chicago,” with a companion CD, “The Soundstage Sessions” (Reprise/Warner Brothers) just as Fleetwood Mac launched its “Unleashed” greatest hits tour, which brings the iconic band to Atlanta’s Philips Arena on Tuesday.

SoVo spoke with Nicks in late March, on the day before “The Soundstage Sessions” was set for release. The 17-song DVD and the 10-track CD are bound to elate Nicks’ legion of fans, who will delight in her performances of beloved originals including “Landslide,” “Stand Back,” “If Anyone Falls in Love” and “Sara,” as well as renditions of songs by Dave Matthews, Bonnie Raitt, Tom Petty and Led Zeppelin.

SoVo: For your first filmed and recorded live show in nearly 25 years, what was it about your performance on the Chicago PBS series “Soundstage” that led you to want to release it as the “Live in Chicago” DVD?

Stevie Nicks: Well, what happened was in 2005, we got an offer to do four shows at Celine Dion’s major big theater, the Colosseum at Caesar’s [Palace]. I was in Maui and I thought I was going to have another month off and I got a call from my manager and he said, “I need you to come in and see Celine on this stage because she leaves after the show tonight and Elton [John] comes in tomorrow. So you could actually see Celine and Elton in two days and decide whether or not you’d like to do this because they’ve offered you four shows. And getting your foot in the door to play Vegas once in a while is not a bad thing.”

Not a bad thing, at all.

So I’m like sorry, I’m on my Rhiannon-quest here in Maui, so I don’t think I’ll be able to do that. And he goes, “I’ll see you Tuesday.” So, off I went. Waddy (Wachtel), my guitar player and I walked in. We’re sitting there and we watched Celine and then we watched Elton, and we’re like, “Oh, my God, we can’t do this!” You have to build a world here. This is a massive IMAX theater and the screens are a hundred feet tall. You can’t just take your little rock band in there.

We’re like, “Can we do this?” Elton filmed everything he ever did and Celine has Cirque du Soleil. What do we have? ...

We got this artist, Sulamith Wülfing, a German artist, my favorite, she died in 1989, but we got permission to use some of her drawings. So we mixed Sulamith’s drawings, my drawings, all the film footage, pictures, photographs, everything we could find, gave them to our lighting and stage guy and said, “OK, here it is. Go for it, work it out, fix it, put it together. Build a world.” He said, “OK!” That’s what we did.

It sounds amazing.

We went in there with a world. We did those four shows and they were great. Everybody really loved it and I loved it. Then it was like, “OK, we’re started now.” Between then and August of 2007, we toured with that show, obviously pared down a little bit...

At the end of the tour in August 2007, I’m sitting in my living room and I’m thinking to myself, “Once again, this show’s not going to be filmed.” So I called my manager and said, “You’ve got to make some calls. Or you’re soon going to be my ex-friend. Because this show is perfect. It’sabout as perfect as I can get. I’ve worked so hard on this thing since the four shows in Vegas two years ago, that I can’t move on until we film this show. It’s really not fair to me to not film this.”

Did he make the calls?

He did. And he called back and said that Joe Thomas from PBS was very interested in doing it. … This was August, and we went on the first of October to Chicago, rehearsed for three weeks, and filmed it on Oct. 27. We came back to Chicago on Feb. 6 and stayed all of February and all of March and worked six days a week, eight hours a day and just hovered...

They let us be as involved as we wanted to be, which was great because we wanted to be involved.

That’s good to hear.

We left at the end of March [2008] and then they started putting it together, and that takes a couple of months. It was supposed to be out at the end of summer, but something happened and I don’t even remember what it was. They moved the date to late October. Then everybody realized — “Do we really want to put Stevie up against Barack Obama and John McCain?” That was a big no. They [also] didn’t really want to put it out when we were in rehearsal for Fleetwood Mac.

So because Lindsey (Buckingham) is taking a break right now... we gave him that two weeks and Warner Brothers and PBS said, “Let’s put it out then. Because then Stevie can do some press, she’ll be out on the road. She didn’t want the ski vacation anyway.” I’m just as happy to work. That’s how it got to here. Now you know!

The songs on the companion CD “The Soundstage Sessions” are cleaned up, in that the audience response to the songs was edited out. Why did you choose to go that route?

I said, “Let’s try to make this into a little album. Let’s pull the 10 most unfamiliar songs. Let’s take the Fleetwood Mac songs out and let’s put in “If Anyone Falls,” “Sorcerer,” the Dave Matthews song, the Bonnie Raitt song. Let’s put the unfamiliar things from the show [on the disc] and let’s take the applause off and let’s go to Nashville and redo some vocals and add some strings and make this a distinctly different piece of work that can go out, along with this DVD. …

You’re going to have the version of “Landslide” on the CD that didn’t go into the show, which is a really spectacularly special “Landslide” because it was really a moment for me where I decided at that point I was going to have to say goodbye to my dad. It’s a very emotional “Landslide” which is not on anything else. From that moment onward, I had made my peace with my father going.

“Landslide,” which is included on both the CD and DVD, is a song of yours that has been covered by Dixie Chicks, Smashing Pumpkins, and most recently by Ann Hampton Callaway, who performs it on her new CD. How do you feel when you hear other people’s interpretations of that song?

I love it when people actually take it upon themselves to interpret something. It’s no different, really, then me trying to interpret “Crash Into Me” by Dave Matthews. Who would have ever thought that I would have done that? So who would ever think that people would try to do “Landslide.” Because mostly people would be like, “Oh, that’s a Stevie Nicks song, I can’t do that.” And the fact that somebody is brave enough to do that, I think is great!

Every time somebody does “Landslide,” it brings it to that generation of listeners. It just takes my music and spreads it out over the world now. I’m always thrilled.

Your songs “Edge of Seventeen” and “Gypsy” inspired the gay coming of age movies “Edge of Seventeen” and “Gypsy 83.” Is a gay following something that you have always been aware of?

Well, I’ve not always been aware of it. But I became aware of it with Night of a Thousand Stevies. And I am so thrilled. I’m thrilled! Because I want my music to mean something to everybody. I think that every song that I write can be dealt with for whoever you are. When you hear one of my songs, it is about you.

Only lately have I started to explain the real stories behind the songs, because I don’t want people to, when they think of “Landslide,” always think of Stevie sitting in Colorado. I want you to think of what it means to you. I want you to think of why it touched you.

I am first and foremost a writer. I am thrilled and honored that the gay community backs my music. I always kid everybody that one day, all you Night of a Thousand Stevies people, one day I’ll be there, in complete dress, and you won’t know it. I’ll be hulking around somewhere, standing behind you, so be careful what you say, because I could be standing next to you at any moment.

LUNCH WITH STEVIE NICKS

ROLLINGSTONE.COM

If we had a single regret about going to Australia with the Kings of Leon (for RS's current cover story), it would be that we missed Fleetwood Mac performing at Madison Square Garden. But, when we returned, we had the pleasure of lunching with Ms. Stevie Nicks, who was in New York to promote her new live CD-DVD, The Soundstage Sessions: Live in Chicago, a collection featuring some of her biggest hits and baddest rarities. We chatted about the first time she met Lindsey Buckingham (at a Mormon Party), and that time she unceremoniously dumped Don Henley.

But it was truly awesome to rap about "Silver Springs," an amazing track that was left off Rumours. The song is about her breakup with Buckingham -- "I'll follow you down till the sound of my voice will haunt you," she sings. "It was me realizing that Lindsey was going to haunt me for the rest of my life," she says. "And he has."

When she performs "Silver Springs" these days -- it's the final number on Fleetwood Mac's current tour -- Nicks resists the opportunity to get up in Lindsey's face: "I don't want fans to walk away in the middle of our argument."

Q&A WITH STEVIE NICKS (Canadian Press)

THE CANADIAN PRESS
The HuffingtonPost.com
Q&A: Rock legend Stevie Nicks explains why she's a technophobe

NEW YORK — Friends who want to get in touch with Stevie Nicks know not to send an email, call on a cellphone, or reach out by text message, because she won't respond.

It's not that she's being rude: Nicks doesn't own a computer or a cellphone. The 60-year-old rock legend, who is currently on tour with Fleetwood Mac, is a proud technophobe.

"I believe that computers have taken over the world. I believe that they have in many ways ruined our children. I believe that kids used to love to go out and play," Nicks says in her famously smoky voice.

"I believe that social graces are gone because manners are gone because all people do is sit around and text. I think it's obnoxious."

Nicks does own an iPod, but she prefers to listen to music - which includes her new CD, "The Soundstage Sessions" - on a boombox. (The CD also comes packaged with a DVD.)
Better yet, give her a cassette version and she'll be in musical heaven. "It sounds better and you'd be convinced," she says.

AP: This is your first live project in 22 years. What took so long?

Nicks: I don't really know exactly how that happened. Before I knew it, it was 2007 ... (my) tour was over, and I'm sitting in my house going, "I can't believe I'm sitting here again, and I didn't film this show." So I got on my phone and I called my managers, and I said, "Make some calls, because I need to film this show." I'm very, very proud of it. I'm almost glad that I waited this long to do it, because maybe that's what God wanted me to do.

AP: You say you hope this project is a blueprint for the next generation. Why do you think there's a lack of strong rock acts?

Nicks: Because the music business is in terrible trouble. People are stealing our music. That's all there is to it. In the old days ... they would help you to develop into the artist that they knew you were going to be. In the last 10 years, the record companies don't have the money to do that. I don't know what the answer is to it. The only thing I can say to people is, "Buy music, do not steal music." If you do, you won't have any new music later on.

AP: If you and I were having lunch, and I pulled out my cellphone ...

Nicks: I'm gonna put my hand on your hand and say, "Turn it off, for now. Just give me an hour, of you, I really want an hour of just you, and your heart. I don't want you talking to someone else while we're having lunch." It's love, you know, it's relationships. I don't want love and relationships to be lost, and I feel like that's happening.

AP: Have the nation's economic troubles inspired you musically?

Nicks: Absolutely, I want to go home and write Bob Dylan songs, I want to go write radical, rebellious "let's try to make it better" songs. I'm very affected by everything going on. When I do get finished with this Fleetwood Mac tour, I will absolutely write about the political situation, which I have never done before. I have never actually been very political before, and I'm starting to feel more political every day. So, pretty soon, governor (laughs).

NUMBER 1

Stevie's "Live in Chicago" is the new No.1 Music Video DVD on Billboards April 18, 2009 chart.

Congratulations Stevie!

Nicks also debuts on Billboards Comprehensive Albums Chart at #48 with "The Soundstage Sessions". and #5 on the Top Internet Albums Chart.

STEVIE NICKS ON "THE MORNING JOLT"

Larry Flick on The Morning Jolt Sirius OutQ Channel 109 Interviewed Stevie Nicks last week at the Waldorf in New York City for his show which he aired this morning.  Stevie's promoting the "Live in Chicago" DVD and "The Soundstage Sessions" CD which were released on March 31st.  This is a pretty extensive interview - spanning pretty much her whole career and running for approximately 42 minutes.   Stevie tells Larry about how the filming of the "Live in Chicago" DVD came about,  what it's like being on the road with Fleetwood Mac, the tension between her and Lindsey today and what motivates Stevie to continue on after this many years in the business - asking her if she can ever see a time when she won't be doing any touring.  It was a really interesting interview with your not so run of the mill questions... So thank you Larry!

STEVIE NICKS - SOUNDSTAGE PRESS RELEASE

LEGENDARY ROCK QUEEN STEVIE NICKS’ NEW “LIVE IN CHICAGO” DVD AND “THE SOUNDSTAGE SESSIONS” CD SCHEDULED FOR MARCH 31st RELEASE

New York, NY - Stevie Nicks, rock’s superstar chanteuse, the “Gold Dust Woman” herself, will be releasing the “Live In Chicago” DVD as well as “The Soundstage Sessions” CD - both in stores
on March 31st, it was announced today by Reprise Records.

The “Live in Chicago” DVD includes all the timeless Nicks songs from her solo projects as well as songs written as a member of the legendary rockers Fleetwood Mac. Along with Stevie classics such as “Stand Back,” “Rhiannon,” “Dreams,” “Gold Dust Woman,” “Landslide” and “Edge of Seventeen,” the DVD also features stunning cover songs, including Dave Matthews’ “Crash Into Me” and a tear-down-the-house finale of Led Zeppelin’s “Rock and Roll.”

“This is the first time since 1985 that I have had one of my live shows filmed and recorded,” said Nicks. “We spent three years perfecting this show, which we began in Vegas in October of 2007. I could not move on until we filmed this show. Luckily “Soundstage” producer Joe Thomas, who saw the show many times, felt the same way. I am as proud of this as anything I’ve ever done in my entire career.”

Stevie Nicks “The Soundstage Sessions” CD includes 10 songs from the “Live in Chicago” DVD. Nicks brought the songs from the show to Nashville and worked once again with Joe Thomas in the studio where they added “Nashville strings” and additional vocals. The CD features a lush orchestral version of “Landslide” and other Nicks gems including “Stand Back,” “Crash Into Me,” “Sara,” “Fall From Grace” and “If Anyone Falls in Love.”

Digital downloads of “Crash Into Me” (”I’ve wanted to record this song for the last 10 years,” said Nicks) and “Landslide” (orchestral version) will be available on Amazonmp3.com on March 17th. “Enchanted,” an exclusive album track, is scheduled to be available on March 31st on Amazonmp3.com. “Gold Dust Woman” and “Edge of Seventeen” will be available exclusively on iTunes on March 31st.

“We wanted everything on the DVD and CD to look and sound perfect and I think we succeeded,” concluded Nicks.

Nicks is currently on the Fleetwood Mac “Unleashed” Tour, which began March 1st in Pittsburgh.

Stevie Nicks Blu Ray

Another twist in the saga of Stevie's "Live" Soundstage DVD

It hasn't technically been released commercially except through PBS - but Sears is now apparently selling Blu-Ray editions of the discs for $24.99. The discs began showing up on eBay over the week much to the surprise of everyone and many at first doubted it's authenticity, but it's been confirmed that yes, it's now available in the Blu-Ray format, but only at Sears (of all places). The cover and track listing are the exact same as what PBS was initially selling after the airing of the show in July, 2008 and there's no booklet inside.... It's been confirmed through various purchases that it is in fact - a Blu-Ray edition - so if you can't wait for the commercial release in March (I'm assuming it will now also be released in the Blu-Ray format in March along with the standard DVD format) then head on over to your local sears, or order it on-line.

TRACK LISTING:

Also... Sears has a "Best Of Soundstage" Blu-Ray disc that features one track from Stevie's show - "Gold Dust Woman" and also Fleetwood Mac's "The Chain". Incidentally, I don't recall Fleetwood Mac's Soundstage DVD being released in the Blu-Ray format... so this one track is a first - $24.99.

A compilation of outstanding live performances by todays premiere artists presented in pristine high definition.

Soundstage Sessions - Stevie Nicks

After months of release dates bouncing around from July all the way to December 31st, it seems that FINALLY Stevie's PBS Soundstage DVD and CD are going to be officially released on October 28th.

The track list for the DVD which is called "Live in Chicago" is similar to the version that PBS released, and is still selling, except this one includes "Dreams". It also includes as a bonus track - "Landslide" with an orchestra. Beauty & The Beast is the only song filmed that night that isn't included with the DVD. It's possible that there were some rights issues that prevent Beauty & The Beast from being on the DVD. Behind Stevie on the screens while she's performing - film footage from the film Beauty & The Beast is being shown. If you saw her in concert in 2007 the same footage played during the closing number of her shows.

The CD versions called "The Soundstage Sessions" and includes Beauty & The Beast which doesn't appear on the DVD - a nice marketing tool!

The cover for the DVD is slightly different then what PBS was selling, same image, just different colour. The CD is the same image without any background enhancements.

The CD and DVD track listing were provided by iamnotafraid from The Ledge. Please note that they haven't been confirmed and are not yet on Amazon .
