Stevie Nicks braced herself against the wind with hair flying as she launched into her song

50,000 Fans Dazzled at First American Thunder Music Festival Benefit for Bob Woodruff Foundation. Jeff Bridges hosts All-Star Concert in Celebration of the Men and Women of the United States Military and their Families.
PR Newswire

STURGIS, S.D., Aug. 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The inaugural American Thunder Music Festival, a benefit concert for the Bob Woodruff Foundation, made history in front of an audience of 50,000 fans this past weekend (August 13) when Jeff Bridges hosted and performed  along with Stevie Nicks and John Fogerty.  Nicks performed in the midst of a howling thundering windstorm and tornado warnings...  The show was the first major benefit concert in the 71-year history of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Stevie Nicks performed her classic hits "Landslide" and "Rhiannon" along with a haunting version of "Soldiers Angel" which she told the audience was written and inspired by her many visits over the years to Walter Reed Hospital and Bethesda to visit wounded soldiers.

The moment could not have been more dramatic.  Commented American Thunder's creator David Clark, "Our giant 40'x60' foot backdrop was ripped from the rigging and went sailing through the back of the stage like a leaf in the wind.  I was on the verge of pulling the plug.  At that point I looked at a determined Stevie Nicks as she braced herself against the wind with hair flying and those famous streamers from her mic violently flying as she launched into her song about the need to care for the country's wounded warriors.  Over 50,000 people watched with me in amazement as Stevie continued to perform.  It's no exaggeration to say that this was the most emotional moment I've ever witnessed at a show."

Review: Lindsey Buckingham ‘IN OUR OWN TIME’ ★★★★✩

Throughout his career, Fleetwood Mac‘s Lindsey Buckingham has consistently kept the listener guessing as to what his next move would sound like, and his new single ‘In Our Own Time’ strikes a compelling groove while maintaining that sense of mystery.

‘In Our Own Time’ is the first official single from Buckingham’s new album ‘Seeds We Sow,’ which he’s describing as possibly the best work he’s ever done. Buckingham makes specific reference to the “tools” of his musical vocabulary when calling the album an “excellent representation” of what he does.

Listening to ‘In Our Own Time,’ it’s evident that Buckingham has been quite busy in that toolshed, as the single puts forth a sound that is so experimentally out there that it’s not immediately clear who exactly you’re listening to in the initial moments.

Review: Stevie Nicks Grand Prairie, TX....

"This devoted audience of some 5,900 admirers genuinely loved Stevie Nicks because her music truly had been the soundtrack to their own lives. When the lights went down, and the opening chords to "Stand Back" wafted through the sound system, the crowd just couldn't wait to show their appreciation."

Review by David Huff

For some reason, over the last 30 days, it seems like every time I catch a live performance of an iconic female artist, I do the time warp back to 1986. That's the year, my memory bank tells me, I last gazed upon Sade, Ann Wilson of Heart and the enigmatic Stevie Nicks. Though each of these female superstars has carved out their own unique Hall of Fame career, without a doubt, it's Nicks who really stirs up the emotions in an audience. With nearly 40 years of whirling dervish behavior behind her shawls, to this very day there's just something about this vocalist that is both captivating and passionate. And it's those very two qualities that lie at the core of who and what this artist truly is.

Personally, I've always had mixed feelings when it comes to Stephanie Lynn Nicks. I witnessed firsthand her spiral downward into booze and drugs at a Dallas concert a quarter of a century ago during her Rock a Little tour. I dutifully reported her destructive behavior in the pages of Jam. In fact, the promoter of the concert even went so far as to ban me from any backstage access for the next year because of the scathing report I did from my behind-the-scenes perch. Yeah, Stevie was one hell of a mess back then. Unfortunately, it was that image I had not been able to shake, all these years later, as I sat quietly through this evening's opening act, Michael Grimm.

Review: Stevie Nicks Woodlands, TX

"She is forever the cool rock and roll aunt who, as long as you don't spill your apple juice on her shawl, will tell you tales of woodland nymphs, players who only love you when they're playing, and vampires in the moonlight until well after the witching hour."

Aftermath can't help but wonder if the people who think Stevie Nicks is some kind of wand-waving white-witch faerie queen have paid much attention to anything she's done besides "Rihannon." Not that Nicks didn't give those Woodlands creatures what they wanted Saturday; we were just a wee bit surprised at what else she gave them.

To bend the title of one of her albums, Nicks didn't rock a little Saturday; she rocked a lot.

Nicks is not going to make Lita Ford or Joan Jett (and probably not even Pat Benatar) cast any defensive spells around their amplifiers. Probably. But "Stand Back," a wicked wind-machine workout of an opener, and the new "Ghosts are Gone" had a much sharper hard-rock edge to them than we expected, like Nicks was hiding razor-blade fingernails in her fingerless gloves.

[Video] Fleetwood Mac Man Lindsey Buckingham Releases New Album Trailer...

Jokerstyle Productions have put together an album trailer for Lindsey's new album "Seeds We Sow" to be released September 6th in North America... Keep checking lindseybuckingham.com as the trailer was up, but they took it down to replace it with a correctly sized version... AND check out the second song clip of "One Take"... THAT to me sounds amazing!

It's a short video, only 1:22 in length with only a three song clips included "That's The Way Love Goes", "One Take" and "Rock Away Blind".

Stevie Nicks Show in Noblesville, IN 8/17/11 has been cancelled

Just heard that the show at Verizon Wireless Music Center in Noblesville, IN (Indianapolis) has been canceled.  Live Nation confirm

Stevie was scheduled to play Atlanta tonight but because of medical reasons (no specific info was provided) the show in Atlanta was rescheduled to Wednesday August 17th.  This put the Indianpolis show in question all last evening as it too was scheduled for August 17th.  Also both Atlanta and Indianapolis were showing up on Ticketmaster and Livenation with the same date.

Noblesville won't be rescheduled - which is odd given the under roof seating looked about 90% sold out.  Maybe there were no other dates available at the venue that jived with Stevie's schedule.

Full refund at point of purchase.

Stevie Nicks Postpones Atlanta Show...

Stevie's Altanta show scheduled for Monday Night 8/15 has been postponed until Wednesday 8/17 due to medical reasons.  No specific band members name was mentioned as having the medical issue.

The only problem with this is Stevie is also scheduled to play Indianapolis Wednesday 8/17.

Live Nation and Ticketmaster both list the rescheduled Atlanta date as being Wednesday 8/17 - so what seems to be left out of this equation is the status of the Indianapolis show?... Either Indianapolis is outright cancelled or it will also be moved to a new date.

All Monday night tickets will be honoured for the new date... Refunds can be made at point of purchase if necessary.

So now the question is what's happening with Indianapolis??
