Looks like a couple of wardrobe changes for both Stevie and Dave.  Stevie's red jacket on this night didn't include the long chiffon sleeves, instead she went for a gathered sleeve top similar or exactly like one she's been wearing in black. Dave in deep purple in a similar style to his yellow blackbird suit.

Review & Photos: Stevie Nicks Melbourne Nov 19th | by Stacie Mayer

Stevie Nicks concert - final bow

by: Stacie Mayer

On Saturday November 19, 2011 Stevie Nicks kicked off her Australian tour in Melbourne. The rainy weather failed to dampen the anticipation and excitement of those at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl.

Brian McFadden was the opening act, performing acoustic versions of a number of his hit songs. He also threw Adele’s “Someone Like You” and NSYNC’s “This I Promise You” into the mix. Forget about what you think about Brian McFadden, he is a gifted musician despite his minor role in boy band Westlife.

Dave Stewart from the Eurythmics was Stevie’s support act, and also one of the people heavily involved in producing her new album. Other than his Eurythmic songs, I was unfamiliar with Dave as a solo performer, but after last night, I am a fan. A gifted guitarist, his band of colourful characters made for an entertaining precursor to the main event.

There was only a short wait for the crew to get the stage ready for Stevie. She came out all guns blazing, belting out “Stand Back” like only she could, followed by “Secret Love”, the first single off her new album.

Fleetwood Mac & Stevie Nicks make huge gains on Australian Albums Charts + NEW Interview Tuesday!

In the lead up to opening night of Stevie's 10 date In Your Dreams Australian tour this Saturday in Melbourne, both Best Of albums from Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks make some pretty healthy gains on both the Album Charts and the Catalogue Charts in Australia.

These increases can be credited to Stevie's being in the country promoting her new album In Your Dreams as well as her tour since the beginning of November.  She's been scheduled on multiple radio programs covering most of the nation - so the awareness that she's in Australia... That she's touring is there - Hopefully all the press she's receiving ignites interest in what she's really there for - to promote her amazing new album In Your Dreams!!

So far the national radio broadcaster ABC has aired numerous interviews with Stevie on a variety of shows covering multiple territories in Australia - with more to come I'm sure.  Today alone (Nov 14th) she appeared on Breakfast with Adam Spencer on 702 ABC Sydney + 4KQ 693AM Brisbane.

Stevie's scheduled to appear on Perth's 96FM Breakfast program with Fitzi and Carmen.  The show airs from 5:30am-9:00am, so check it out if you can by streaming the program live HERE!

Also on Tuesday Stevie will be interviewed one-on-one by Melissa Doyle on Sunrise Channel 7  The show airs weekday mornings 6:00am-7:00am. The interview segment will air at 7:40am  Later Tuesday night Stevie will appear and perform on Australia's X Factor - so definitely check that out!

In the next week or so Stevie's interview with Fenella Kernebone should be on Australia's Art Nation on ABC (Date TBA).

So it's been a busy couple of weeks for Stevie in Australia... She's working hard!

Here's the run down of the current Australian chart positions for Stevie and Fleetwood Mac

Australian Top 100 Albums Chart 11/14/11
# 29 Re-Entry Fleetwood Mac - The Very Best Of
# 88 Re-Entry Stevie Nicks - Crystal Visions, The Very Best Of

"This breaking news will no doubt please Australian fans of Fleetwood Mac and their singer Stevie Nicks...

As you're well aware by now, Stevie arrives in Australia in a couple of weeks time for a swag of live dates around the country (kicking off at Melbourne's Sidney Myer Music Bowl on November 19).  BUT we've heard a little rumour this afternoon that Ms Nicks may have just been locked in for a guest appearance on a certain TV show that might have its eliminations on a Tuesday night.  Could it be true? We've heard you might want to keep Tuesday November 15 free..."

STEVIE NICKS: Explains Fleetwood Mac Delay until 2013

Stevie Nicks has explained to us why the next round of Fleetwood Mac activity, which had been expected to take place in 2012, has been pushed back to 2013. She says she wants to continue promoting her current solo album, InYour DreamsI, through next summer, and expects to release more singles and videos from it. "I just want people to see and hear it, so I want to keep this record going until next summer."
Stevie says Lindsey Buckingham, in particular, has been supportive.

"Lindsey knows how important this record is to me, because [he] was a part of [it]. And so he said to me, 'This record is your heart. Don't feel as if you have to run back to Fleetwood Mac, because you don't."

She's also got two movie projects -- both based on old songs -- she wants to "at least get started" next year. One is a movie version of the Welsh folk tale that inspired her to write "Rhiannon," the other an animated film based on a pre-Fleetwood Mac song called "The Ladybug and the Goldfish."

Stevie Nicks and Dave Stewart have penned a modern classic in “Everybody Loves You"

Stevie Nicks, “Everybody Loves You”
By Davis Inman
American Songwriter

With a chorus hook that seems in equal parts inspired by the hit DNA of U2′s “One” and REM’s “Everybody Hurts,” Stevie Nicks and Dave Stewart have penned a modern classic in “Everybody Loves You.”

The song comes on Stevie Nicks’ new album, In Your Dreams, produced by Dave Stewart. It seems appropriate that for Nicks’ first album in a decade, she’s chosen to tackle aspects of Fleetwood Mac’s complicated past: the romantic entanglements and revolving personnel doors that would lead to the group’s most successful work.

Fleetwood Mac began life as a Peter Green-helmed British blues rock entity, along with the rhythm section of Mick Fleetwood and John McVie, for whom Green named the band and who would prove to be the only stable force through years of lineup changes.

By the early ‘70s, Green was out, and the band seemed to be switching guitar-playing singer-songwriters like relief pitchers in a baseball game. (1974’s Kiln House seems a clear high-water mark for the ’50s blues-meets-’70s soft rock transitional period caretaken by Danny Kirwan and Jeremy Spencer.)

By 1975, Mick Fleetwood had moved the band to Los Angeles and was looking for a new guitarist. In a feature story, Nicks tells American Songwriter’s Lynne Margolis that “destiny” brought she and Lindsay Buckingham together.

“[Mick Fleetwood] definitely heard strains of Peter Green [in Lindsay Buckingham] and all the other famous guitar players who had been in Fleetwood Mac for the five years before that. So the fact that this big tall guy would come in and Keith Olsen would play him a song off a Buckingham-Nicks record that never really went anywhere, that two years before had opened to critical acclaim and then was dropped like a rock by Polydor—what are the chances of that? One in 20 million?”

Buckingham and Nicks would join the group and Olsen would produce the new lineup’s first album, Fleetwood Mac (their second eponymous release). The Buckingham-Nicks dynamic would help move the band into Fleetwood Mac’s golden era of ‘70s California smooth rock, which in 1977 produced Rumours, created in the midst of the power couple’s disintegration.

Stewart also headed up a famous formerly-romantic musical duo with Annie Lennox in Eurythmics, and Nicks says there was an unspoken bond between the two when working together on “Everybody Loves You.”

"For What It's Worth" not lookin' too good on the charts!

Stevie's latest single "For What It's Worth" isn't looking too good at the moment on the AC Charts... In it's 3rd week on the chart (Billboard Magazine issue October 15th) the single has dropped to # 29 after debuting at # 25 and dropping to # 26 the second week.  This was to be expected as there have been virtually no radio stations in the US in the month of September picking up the track for play... Too bad, it's a great track!

I'd suggest getting another single out there to radio, but at this late stage in the fall and with AC radio's slow building pattern, by the time anything begins to gain some traction it'll be Christmas and the onslot of holiday tunes on radio will be relentless... Remember what happened in the fall of 2003 when Thrown Down and Steal Your Heart Away were released from Say You Will?... Not a lot!  Both radio singles were lost in the holiday shuffle...
