Twin Cities Metro

The best thing about Stevie Nicks is that she knows she's a rockstar and she's not afraid to say it. During her enthralling performance at Mystic Lake Ampitheater last night, Nicks told several stories about her life as a musical legend, including one about visiting soldiers in Iraq—a surprise medevac left her humbled as her celebrity status went out the window and parametics pushed her toward the exit. "I arrived a rockstar and left a soldier's mother," she said, before launching into "Soldier's Angel," off her new album, "In Your Dreams."

One of the best parts of the evening was when Nicks introduced her band members. She'd known many of them for thirty or forty years, which made for some gracious, touching stories. She recalled attempting to film a music video at El Mirage Lake in California. They drove for miles, trying to find a lake that got further and further away the closer they came.

She was truly incredible. She is a storyteller and a vintage legend.
