Lindsey Buckingham Offers Up Seeds We Sow Tracks to GLEE Creator

Karma is at the center of Lindsey Buckingham's sixth solo album, Seeds We Sow. With the perspective that 40 years in the music business can give, the Fleetwood Mac guitarist feels he's still on the positive side of the karmic scale.

Excerpts from USA Today Article:

FLEETWOOD MAC
Buckingham hasn't missed "the big machine," he says. Instead, Buckingham has enjoyed splitting time between his new album and his family: wife Kristen, whom he married in 2000; son William, 13; and daughters Leelee, 11, and Stella, 7.

GLEE
A younger generation of fans was exposed to Fleetwood Mac classics on a May episode of Glee that featured six songs from the 1977 album Rumours, and fan interest sparked its re-entrance into the Billboard album chart the next week.

"The fact that all of that stuff seems to have worked its way into the fabric and crossed generational lines, obviously we've done our job properly," Buckingham says.

He says he has never seen Glee, but if show creator Ryan Murphy was in need of more material, he could have his pick of the tracks from Seeds We Sow, Buckingham says: "Just about anything on there is going to make sense for a young listener."

I hope GLEE producers and writers don't regret doing the Rumours episode now that Stevie and Lindsey have both essentially kissed some serious GLEE ass over the last several months. If your music fits a theme they're implementing into the show, they call the artist. Kind of a "don't call us, we'll call you" sort of thing. :-)

On the contrary. I hope these artists don't regret stooping down to that schmaltz in years to come.

Where's the kissing ass? Some of you people are pretty clueless. Many could describe the music of the 20's and 30's as "schmaltz"... but it doesn't make it less credible or impressive. Times evolve and change. Grow a more expansive musical ear.

What I think is interesting is that Lindsey had condescending comments about Glee last week. I love him, but he is really is an ass.

So, you love ass? What's your point?

Geez. Sorry, but this new CD is just awful. And I have listened to it several times.. Talk about trying to tag along on Stevie's coat tails..
Not a chance!! Here's hoping Glee has a little more sense then that??

Stevie doesn't have half the talent LB does. She's a monotone singer with no range. She was just in the right place at the right time in 1975 when they joined FM.

I have to agree, Seeds We Sow is indeed a big disappointment. And does not begin to come close to the quality of either Gift of Screws or especially what he did on Say You Will.
BUT...One could actually say, with a great deal of truth.......
The really lucky party in 1975.. was Fleetwood Mac. For without both Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham where would the band have been today?
In this day and age, both artists deserve a huge thank you for putting out new music.
What I hope most for... a Buckingham Nicks reunion!! Now that would be a sight and sound to behold... !!!

In what way is it a disappointment? The travis picking style and crisp sound mixed in with great layered vocals. Each song is different from the last. He can play guitar in his sleep. He mixed, engineered, played all instruments and produced it himself. The songs are romantic and he also sticks it to the man with the lyrics of One Take. Remember, Mick, John and Christine offered him a job in '74, not Stevie. LB brought her along for the ride. She's talentless. She sings in one octive and very flat.
