In the video, Stevie says if you're going to do coke, you'd better have $50,000 because that's how much it costs for rehab. :-)

It's a short clip that also features other celebs that will appear this season...Cindy Crawford, Alicia Keys, and Tom Brokaw.

Stevie got off cocaine 27 years ago but all Oprah and her people can do is spin the Stevie Nicks story into an addiction/recovery fairy tale of the kind Oprah's peddled for years (remember James Frey?). Now a complicit Stevie trivializes that experience by making it part of a snappy sound-bite promo. Stevie looks foolish. And these people are hardly "masters."

I too am really sick of the cocaine stuff. You watch a Stevie or Fleetwood Mac on YouTube and there is comment after comment about her drug use. Remember that almost every rock star (as well as most Hollywood actors) were abusing cocaine in the 1970's and 80's. The subject is played out to death. Stevie did 10 years and then got clean and has stayed that way. End of story.

i think it still resonates because: stevie is a woman in her 60's who's career is still going (fairly) strong. stevie was in one of the biggest rock bands ever. stevie indulged, paid the price, and has lived to talk about it, unlike so many others. so, yes, I'd say this part of her life would be discussed in her "master's" class.

I knew this would turn into the "Betty Ford" thing and you know the Klonopin years won't be too far behind that. That's all Stevie talked about when her IYD was released.

I doubt Stevie talks about her drug use that much. It'll probably be a touch and go kind of thing. They'll ask her about God and lots of spiritual questions and they'll ask her to talk about where her career has been and where it's going.

^ yeah they typically ask the same questions to every person who appears. they'll ask her to describe God in one word or explain God in one word and then build from that. a lot of "master class" is about spirituality, reflection, and knowledge.

In short, it's about everything but "mastery", as in what the Old Masters practiced. Oprah would look at the Mona Lisa, then ask Leonardo da Vinci if he huffed Clorox. And what the hell is Tom Brokaw doing on this show? What has HE mastered? News reading?

By the time this new season of Oprah's Master class airs with subject matter that is new to the viewer ....you can bet it will be the same old -same old, about Stevie ...really nothing new....but as usual I'll keep my fingers crossed !

Thank God Lindsey gives the band dignity and credibility. At this point, Stevie doesn't muh.

Stevie's doing too much crap publicity because she's bored and melancholy. She needs to rest her voice and rest herself. It's almost as if Stevie's going into overdrive again to avoid sadness - which I personally understand. Stevie - we love you. We are here for you. We wil not abandon you. Rest and be healthy. xoxoxoxxo

Stevie has to come up with some new, ridiculous reason why she and Lindsey still love each other madly, but still cannot be together (oh, wait - he's happily married with a wife and three kids). I'll bet he snores and she leaves her nylons drying over the shower rod.

Why do fans assume everything Stevie does is for THEM? Ultimately, shows like Oprah are meant for the MASSES. The typical person doesn't visit Stevie-themed message boards or search the internet for every interview she's ever given. Believe it or not, there will be people watching Stevie for the first time when she appears on Master Class.

Bravo Greg and EXACTLY. Not every person who is a casual Stevie fan knows every portion and particle of her life! It seems the biggest fans are the one's who are first to tear her down.

Oh, yes - cheers! Bravo! Gimme a break. If you think she's going to make new fans on a microscopically rated show you're crazy. And to say she doesn't do publicity for fans is crazy - who the f%^&* do you think she does it for? She plays to her audience, period.

some of you people are weird. a person's life is a person's life. whadda ya want her to do...make up something to satisfy your need for something "secret?" a person's most personal things are personal. be glad you've got something to watch.
