Fleetwood Mac "Rumours" Re-enters Billboard's Top 200 Albums Chart


Fleetwood Mac's 1977 evergreen album Rumours re-enters Billboards Top 200 Albums Chart this week
Sales period - April 9th to April 15th and Billboard Chart date April 28th

On Billboards Top 200 Albums Chart Fleetwood Mac's Rumours re-enters the chart this week at #162 on a sales increase of 63% from 1,866 units sold last week to 3,046 copies of the album sold this week.This in turn caused the album to spike up on the Top 200 Catalogue Albums Chart from #141 last week back into the top 40 this week at #33.  Fleetwood Mac's 1988 album Greatest Hits didn't fair so well this week sliding 18% in sales to 1,550 copies sold from 1,881 last week and landing at #158 on the Top 200 Cataglogue Chart.


Total album sales in the US so far for Rumours in the soundscan era which began tracking sales in November, 1991 are 2,948,464.  Greatest Hits has a total of 4,540,486 units sold.

On the Top 200 Catalogue Digital Albums Chart Rumours increased in sales 138% to 2,491 for the week vs 1,047 last week.  Greatest Hits digitally decreases in sales by 16% to 740 copies vs 886 last week.


On the Top 200 Catalogue Digital Tracks Chart Landslide and Edge of Seventeen remain while Dreams and Go Your Own Way drop off the chart all together after re-entering last week.  Landslide slides in sales by 38% to 6,576 single units sold for the week vs 10,657 last week.  Edge of Seventeen edges down 52% in sales to 5,626 single units sold vs 11,708 last week.  Total Landslide digital sales 851,748.  Total Edge of Seventeen digital sales 498,474.

That means Edge of Seventeen should go Gold next week. Question: what happened to Bella Donna. Why is it still only at 4 million according to RIAA. It's been that way since 1990 and I don't buy it.
